We are seeking a commercially driven, technically sharp Senior Product Manager to own and lead the flagship trading platform and API that underpins key portions of global energy trading.
Sitting at the intersection of complex trading technology, market data feeds, and client execution workflows, you will turn algorithmic trading and connectivity challenges into innovative products that meaningfully boost adoption and revenue.
The Role
You will lead the strategy for venue connectivity—from onboarding new execution venues to managing real-time market data integration. Working closely with external counterparties, exchanges, and brokers, you will navigate technical changes and API upgrades to guarantee uninterrupted connectivity across aggregated markets. You are as comfortable discussing API specifications and trade flows with developers as you are presenting new commercial opportunities to executive stakeholders. Your goal is simple: build fast, protect continuous market access, eliminate client friction in the algo space, and drive bottom-line growth.
Responsibilities
- Vision & Revenue: Own the roadmap for Trayport’s trading platform and API; identify market opportunities and launch innovative commercial offerings to generate new revenue streams.
- Venue Connectivity & Market Data: Lead the integration of new execution venues and market data feeds. Partner with exchanges and brokers to manage protocol changes and enhance low latency capabilities.
- Technical Depth & APIs: Collaborate closely with engineering, translating complex technical capability into clear client value. Work directly with clients’ technical teams to shape the long term strategy for Trayport’s API offerings.
- Domain Expertise: Act as the subject matter expert on trading workflows and advanced algo execution strategies, providing clients with a competitive edge while meeting strict regulatory requirements.
- Agile Delivery: Champion a pragmatic "build fast, test, iterate" approach. Write strategic Epics and granular user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
- Client Advocacy: Engage directly with traders, present prototypes, and track quantitative metrics to validate product-market fit.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Align Sales, Support, Marketing, and Engineering to accelerate time-to-market and adoption.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
