Product Manager, Customer

Your team: The Times Media Product Team is organised around three core pillars of The Times product: Customer, Content, and Monetisation. This role will be joining the Customer programme, stepping into a key role to drive the strategy, design, and execution of how we optimise the customer lifecycle.

Your role: As a Product Manager within the Customer programme team, you will help shape our subscriber growth and retention strategy at pivotal stages of the reader journey. You will own the roadmap for optimising that stage of the customer experience - whether that's turning new or returning audiences into subscribers, or turning a potential cancellation into renewed loyalty to increase the lifetime value of the subscriber.

Sitting at the intersection of Marketing, Customer Growth, Data Tech, Engineering, Editorial, and Commercial teams, you will navigate a matrix organisation to bring this strategy to life, balancing subscription economics with a world-class customer experience to drive sustainable growth and real business value.

Day to day you will:

  • Work with product leadership to turn product vision and strategy into a discovery roadmap for what a great relationship with The Times looks like at a critical moment in the user journey - whether that's the moment someone decides to engage with the brand, subscribe, or the moment we need to earn their loyalty back.
  • Build and prioritise a product roadmap of evidence-backed opportunities that grow subscriptions, strengthen retention, translating reader insight into measurable commercial impact.
  • Partner closely with Customer Growth, Marketing, and Data Tech teams to design, test, and ship initiatives that make the guest or subscriber experience feel more valuable and more personal.
  • Champion a test-and-learn culture, working with Finance and Data Tech to track how your initiatives move the metrics that matter - lifetime value, retention, and subscriber growth.
  • Be the go-to product voice for your part of the customer lifecycle, presenting your strategy, business cases, and results with confidence to senior leadership and executive stakeholders.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
