Role Overview - Product Manager

Are you an experienced Product Manager with a technical or engineering background? Do you enjoy developing product strategies, launching new products, and working closely with customers to deliver market-leading solutions?

Our client, a leading manufacturer serving the utilities and infrastructure sectors, is seeking a Product Manager to join their growing team in Chesterfield.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a key product portfolio, driving its growth, profitability, and market position. Working closely with Sales, Technical, Marketing, and Leadership teams, you will play a pivotal role in shaping product strategy, identifying new opportunities, and ensuring customers receive innovative, high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities - Product Manager

  • Own and develop the product portfolio, driving growth, profitability, and market share.
  • Create and deliver product strategies and roadmaps aligned to customer and business requirements.
  • Lead new product launches, ensuring successful introduction to the market.
  • Monitor market trends, customer feedback, and competitor activity to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Work closely with Sales, Technical, and Marketing teams to maximise product performance and customer value.
  • Act as the product specialist, providing technical and commercial support to customers and colleagues.
  • Develop and deliver product training to improve product knowledge across the business.
  • Support continuous improvement by driving product enhancements and resolving product-related issues.
  • Ensure products comply with relevant industry standards and specifications.

Skills & Experience - Product Manager

  • Experience in Product Management, Technical Sales, Product Engineering, or a similar role within an engineering environment.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical products, valves, fittings, fluid control, or related technologies.
  • Commercially aware with experience managing product performance and market opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Technical or engineering background, supported by practical project management experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and business systems such as ERP or CRM platforms.
