Product Manager – Electrical Safety

Location: Wolverhampton, WV4 6FB (Hybrid – 3–4 days in office; must be commutable)
Salary: £50,000 – £65,000 per year

About the opportunity

Fortress Safety is looking for a Product Manager – Electrical Safety to take full ownership of our Remlive product line — including our Presence of Voltage Indicator and our UL 1436-compliant, SIL3 Absence of Voltage Tester. This is a high-impact, globally focused role for someone who wants to shape a portfolio's roadmap, launch new products, and scale the business from around £2m into a multi-million-pound global operation. You'll sit right at the intersection of electrical safety standards, product development and commercial strategy.

What you'll be doing

  • Own the Remlive product portfolio (Presence of Voltage Indicator and Absence of Voltage Tester) across the full lifecycle — development, launch, growth and optimisation.
  • Deliver the Absence of Voltage Tester to market, including product requirements, business case, competitive positioning and go-to-market plan.
  • Build and apply working knowledge of standards such as UL 1436, NFPA 70E, IEC 61010, IEC 61243-5 and EN 50110 to shape product requirements and positioning.
  • Run structured Voice of Customer activity with end users, channel partners and industry stakeholders across all regions.
  • Own and maintain the 3-year electrical safety product roadmap, aligned to strategic priorities.
  • Lead competitive intelligence — tracking key market players and maintaining battlecards and positioning.
  • Partner with Engineering, Safety Services, Application & Technical Support, Marketing and Sales to deliver and scale products globally.
  • Support commercial growth through webinars, tradeshows, site visits and partner training.

What you'll bring

  • 5+ years in Product Management, Technical Marketing or Technical Sales within a technical B2B environment (electrical safety, power distribution, industrial controls or related).
  • Practical understanding of low-voltage electrical systems, isolation procedures, LOTO/LOTOTO, and voltage indication/testing in industrial maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of one or more of: UL 1436, NFPA 70E, IEC 61010, IEC 61243-5, EN 50110, or functional safety (IEC 61508 / SIL), with the appetite to develop deeper expertise.
  • Proven product lifecycle experience — from requirements and business case through certification, launch and commercial optimisation.
  • Commercial acumen — business case development, product-level P&L, and data-driven portfolio decisions.
  • Experience managing distribution channels and multiple routes to market across global regions.
  • Strong communication skills — able to simplify technical and regulatory content for commercial, partner and customer audiences.
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent industry experience will also be considered.

  • UL certification experience and working with NRTLs.
  • Functional safety knowledge (SIL, safety PLCs, ProfiSafe / CIP Safety).
  • Familiarity with the machinery safety or industrial interlocking market.
