Product Manager - Engineering

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Product Manager - Engineering based in United Kingdom.

This is a cross-functional product leadership role connecting engineering teams with game product stakeholders in a fast-paced mobile gaming environment.

You will shape internal engineering products, platforms, and initiatives that enable teams to work more effectively and deliver better player experiences.

  • Working closely with engineering leads and product managers, you will translate technical and business needs into clear priorities, roadmaps, and requirements.
  • You will balance business value, technical effort, stakeholder needs, and delivery constraints to guide high-impact decisions.
  • The role combines product management, technical understanding, project coordination, and continuous improvement across the engineering lifecycle.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Game Product, QA, Analytics, and other teams across a globally distributed organization.

This is an opportunity for a technically curious product professional to influence how engineering teams build, operate, and improve the tools and systems behind successful mobile games.

Accountabilities

  • Partner with engineering leads and game product managers to gather requirements, identify opportunities, assess tradeoffs, and contribute to roadmap planning for internal engineering initiatives.
  • Own and continuously maintain the backlog for internal engineering products, platforms, and tools.
  • Facilitate alignment between Engineering, Game Product, QA, Analytics, and other stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Translate business objectives and technical requirements into clear product specifications, user stories, and functional requirements.
  • Coordinate feature development, project timelines, releases, and stakeholder communications.
  • Recommend priorities based on business impact, engineering effort, technical dependencies, and stakeholder feedback.
  • Define appropriate success metrics and monitor product performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Establish and maintain consistent standards for product requirements, documentation, release notes, and user guides.
  • Facilitate roadmap reviews, planning sessions, prioritization discussions, and cross-functional meetings.
  • Identify opportunities to improve internal engineering tools, workflows, platforms, and development processes.
  • Help stakeholders understand technical initiatives by clearly communicating their purpose, expected outcomes, and business value.
  • Support continuous improvement across the product development lifecycle by incorporating feedback, performance data, and lessons learned.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional Product Management experience, ideally supporting technical products, engineering teams, or software platforms.
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and modern software development practices.
  • Technical fluency and confidence discussing concepts such as Unity, JavaScript, APIs, backend services, cloud infrastructure, mobile applications, and game development.
  • Ability to understand technical tradeoffs and translate complex technical concepts into clear business value for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, project management, and execution skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple functions.
  • Proven experience writing product requirements, user stories, functional specifications, and maintaining product documentation.
  • Strong ability to manage competing priorities and bring structure to complex or ambiguous initiatives.
  • Experience working collaboratively with engineering and other technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in the mobile gaming industry is preferred.
  • Familiarity with internal developer tools, SDKs, LiveOps, analytics platforms, backend systems, or similar technical products is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of AWS, SQL, REST APIs, or comparable technologies is advantageous.
  • Previous hands-on technical or engineering experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Professional English proficiency of at least B2 level, with the ability to participate confidently in meetings and independently read and produce technical and product documentation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote, globally distributed environment.
