ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Product Manager leading the Electronic Point of Sale (EPoS) Transformation for John Lewis shops, you will drive the delivery and modernisation of our retail checkout technology across our nationwide store network. Focusing specifically on core retail till functions, this hands-on delivery and product role bridges strategic vision with shop-floor execution, partnering closely with enterprise SaaS vendors, technical development squads, and Retail Operations to implement seamless checkout experiences.

You will act as the key liaison between 3rd-party providers and internal business teams, leading the implementation phase, end-to-end user testing, and stakeholder negotiation. You will build and prioritise the product backlog, balance technical debt, and ensure new payment and selling features are smoothly adopted by our in-store colleagues.

Expected salary - Salary up to £80,000, depending on experience

Contract type - This position is Permanent

Working pattern/flexible working - The Partnership has adopted a hybrid working approach, meaning you'll be able to work a mixture between the office and home based upon your personal needs whilst balancing the needs of the business. There will also be an expectation to visit John Lewis shops as the need arises. The team aims for around 3 days a week in the office to connect and on a more ad-hoc basis to attend key meetings, but the frequency is dependent on the business needs. Core days are currently Monday and Thursday.

Location - This role is based at our London Head Office in Pimlico

Key responsibilities

  • Create and drive an inspiring product vision and roadmap using customer, industry, and business insights
  • Set clear OKRs and manage a transparent, prioritised Product Backlog to optimise delivery value
  • Write high-quality user stories and establish functional and non-functional requirements in collaboration with development teams
  • Effectively manage, engage, and align diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders behind product goals
  • Utilise data, analytics, and experimentation (such as A/B testing) to continually improve and iterate on features
  • Manage release scope, track delivery progress, and balance technical and design debt with customer and commercial value
  • Act as a role model and mentor within the team while actively contributing to the Product Management community of practice

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
