I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What We’re Looking For
- Someone with a bias to action with the engineering and product experience to design beautifully crafted B2B products and features.
- An engineering background, with (ideally) backend experience before moving into product. You need to be able to read code, write a technical specification, and have a credible conversation with an engineer about trade-offs. You will use Postman, GitHub, Jira, and Claude Code daily.
- One to two years of product management experience in a B2B fintech or financial services organisation, with direct experience owning an API as a product.
- A natural collaborator: This role sits at the intersection of engineering, sales, and compliance. You will need to hold the trust of all three simultaneously, which means translating between them without losing fidelity.
- Familiarity with fraud, credit, risk, or identity data products is a nice to have. You do not need to be a domain expert on day one, but you need to get there fast with our support – curiosity is key.
- A progressive approach to AI in product work: We expect this person to use AI tools actively across research, specification writing, competitive analysis, and delivery management, and to raise the bar for the whole team.
- Strong written and oral communication.
- Comfort operating in a small team: You will create structure rather than wait for it, you will drive your agenda rather than have it dictated to you.
