Description
The Digital Team develops and evolves UKTV’s VoD and digital strategy covering U, digital products, pay platforms and partnerships. We are a growing group of multi-disciplined, talented individuals across several different units: Digital Content Curation, Digital Product, and Production and Development. We’re responsible for growing digital audiences, supporting transformative change across UKTV and contributing to UKTV’s long-term profitability.
We are focused on delivering functionality that provides key business and user value. In addition to delivering change on time and within budget, the team also support the business to define, prioritise and deliver key strategic technical, commercial and operational activities.
The Digital Products team has responsibility for the strategic road mapping, planning, rollout, and continuous improvement of UKTV’s VoD digital products (U), across a range of platforms including web, iOS, Android, and Connected TV devices. We also support key high value initiatives across the UKTV business, working closely with Ad sales, Commercial, Legal, Operations and Marketing functions.
Purpose of the role
As Product Manager, you'll play a key role in shaping and evolving U, helping us deliver brilliant experiences that connect audiences with the content they love. Working across web, mobile and connected TV platforms, you'll combine user insight, data and business objectives to identify opportunities, define product enhancements and support delivery.
You'll work closely with colleagues across Product, Technology & Operations, Digital Curation, Marketing and Distribution teams to improve the user experience, drive engagement and help deliver UKTV's digital ambitions.

Experience
- Experience delivering consumer-facing digital products in a fast-moving environment.
- Experience working as part of a cross-functional product team, bringing together business, technology and user needs.
- Experience identifying opportunities, shaping product solutions and taking ideas from concept through to delivery.
- Experience gathering and interpreting customer, business and market insight to support decision making.
- Experience working with stakeholders to build alignment, manage priorities and achieve shared goals.
- Experience of streaming, media or entertainment products is beneficial but not essential.

Knowledge
- Good understanding of modern product management practices and agile ways of working.
- Understanding of product discovery techniques and user-centred design principles.
- Knowledge of how customer insight, product performance data and business objectives can be used to inform priorities and product direction.
- Awareness of trends in digital products, streaming and consumer technology.
- Appreciation of technical concepts and an ability to work effectively with engineering teams.

Discovery and solution development
- Investigate new opportunities, features and capabilities that could support UKTV's digital ambitions.
- Research customer needs, competitor products, industry trends and the wider market landscape.
- Work with stakeholders across the business to gather perspectives, understand objectives and build alignment.
- Develop and assess potential solutions, balancing user value, business impact and technical considerations.
- Facilitate discovery activities including workshops, idea generation and solution validation.

Shaping and delivering products
- Contribute to the evolution of the U product strategy and roadmap.
- Help prioritise opportunities and initiatives based on user, business and technical needs.
- Work with design, engineering and delivery teams to turn ideas into valuable product improvements.
- Create clear product briefs, requirements and user stories where appropriate.
- Monitor outcomes and use learnings to inform future decisions and priorities.
Collaboration and continuous improvement
- Build strong relationships with teams across Product, Technology, Content, Marketing, Commercial and Operations.
- Communicate priorities, opportunities and progress clearly to a range of audiences.
- Work with suppliers, partners and platform providers where required.
- Stay informed on industry developments, emerging technologies and changing audience behaviours.
- Contribute to a culture of learning, experimentation and continuous improvement.
