Building the Future of Open Finance
Payward - the parent company behind Kraken, NinjaTrader, Breakout, xStocks, Payward Services, and CF Benchmarks - has spent the last 15 years building one of the most modern and globally accessible financial infrastructure platforms in the industry, built to advance an open, global financial system.
Before you apply, we encourage you to explore our culture page to understand what drives us and how we work.
The team
Founded in 2011, Kraken is one of the world's longest-standing crypto platforms, trusted by over 10 million individuals and institutions across the globe. It offers spot trading, margin, futures, staking, and OTC services, with products built for both individual investors and institutional clients.
This role will own the product strategy, roadmap, and delivery for key fraud projects. You will work closely with Engineering, Legal, Finance, Risk, and external vendors to design and launch secure, compliant fraud systems that enable Kraken to operate across jurisdictions while protecting users from fraud and supporting investigations—without disrupting legitimate client activity. This role requires strong product ownership, cross-functional coordination, and experience working with fraud/ATO detection/prevention mechanisms and fraud case management.
The opportunity
- Own the product strategy and roadmap for fraud solutions, including running the project to revamp case management for fraud and ATO.
- Lead end-to-end delivery of fraud features from discovery and design through implementation and launch.
- Collaborate with Engineering teams to define technical specifications, APIs, workflows, and operational processes for fraud and ATO.
- Work closely with Legal, Fraud Strategy, and Ops teams to ensure products meet requirements across jurisdictions.
- Partner with external vendors to define integration scope, capabilities, and technical requirements.
- Build systems that support investigations, risk detection, and user protection while minimizing friction for legitimate client activity.
- Prioritize initiatives that improve monitoring coverage, attribution accuracy, alerting quality, and operational efficiency.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
