Product Manager (Investment Platform)

About the role

The Investment Platforms team bridges the gap between Investments and Technology, partnering closely with the Investment Directorate and Investment Operations teams to deliver technology change and operate platform systems that underpin our Investment Proposition. They manage a diverse and specialist technology landscape, including discrete applications, platform technologies, underlying data stores, market data solutions, and 3rd party managed services. The team works with the broader technology community to ensure Investment systems are scalable, secure, and aligned with business priorities, enabling innovation and operational excellence across the investment lifecycle.

As Product Manager (Investment Platform), you will own the roadmap and delivery of a key product within our Investment Platform. Working closely with business stakeholders and technology teams, you will be responsible for translating investment management needs into prioritised technology and data solutions, driving enhancements across portfolio and risk analytics, research management, performance reporting and liquidity tooling.

You will lead the delivery of strategic initiatives and platform improvements while ensuring the ongoing stability, performance and resilience of the platform. Acting as a vital link between business and technology, you will help shape future investment capabilities, improve operational efficiency and deliver measurable value to our investment teams.

What you'll be doing

  • Owning and prioritising the Investment Management product backlog within SJP’s Investment Platform; ensuring it reflects the needs of Investment Analyst, Risk, Performance and Research teams, as well as broader CIO office & Value Stream stakeholders.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact between business stakeholders and/or project managers and the delivery team, managing expectations and providing regular updates on delivery progress and roadmap changes.
  • Owning the delivery roadmap, visualising the journey to the desired target state, proposing optimal sequencing, and adjusting based on stakeholder needs and other imposed constraints.
  • Ensuring business requirements are translated into well-defined user stories which can be easily actioned by engineering team(s).
  • Owning delivery outcomes for the Investment Management product area, ensuring initiatives are delivered against agreed scope, timelines and business objectives.
  • Establishing clear success measures and KPIs for platform initiatives and monitor delivery against expected outcomes.
  • Ensuring the feature team’s resourcing satisfies short- and long-term delivery needs, escalating gaps or constraints to Governance & Oversight roles where required.
  • Managing delivery risks, dependencies and constraints across teams and suppliers, ensuring issues are identified and addressed early.
  • Working closely with the Scrum Master to ensure backlog priorities, roadmap commitments and delivery plans remain aligned.
  • Providing regular reporting on roadmap progress, strategic initiatives, risks, dependencies and realised business value to senior stakeholders.
  • Balancing short-term delivery priorities against the platform's longer-term architecture and technical debt considerations, working closely with the Investment Architect and Solution Analysts.
  • Supporting the team's engagement with internal tech teams & third-parties, where relevant to Investment Platform delivery.
  • Communicating delivery strategy, progress, and roadmap changes for Investment Platform to colleagues at all levels, and to senior stakeholders and Governance & Oversight roles (Platform Owner, Vendor Manager, Enterprise Architect).
  • Verifying that delivery practices adhere to regulatory expectations, Group policies, and Investment Platform standards & ways of working.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
