More about the role
You will lead an agile engineering team, in partnership with an Engineering Manager, to drive the development of our multi-brand, multi-channel messaging platform. You’ll be accountable for the roadmap, working in support of the Senior Product Manager to ensure all activity is prioritised in line with our business strategy and agreed MarTech goals and metrics so that we can communicate with millions of customers every week when and where it makes sense for them; sending the right message via the right channel at the right time.

You’ll work in close collaboration with a variety of engineering teams and other Product Managers, architects, analysts, data scientists, senior stakeholders and third-party partners. You will confidently manage priorities; you’ll have a strong grasp of the big picture, working to understand dependencies, arbitrating conflicting priorities and influencing across teams to drive value while fostering a community spirit and culture of proactive feedback within Sainsbury's. You will continually review product value, identifying opportunities for improvement and cost reduction and use this insight to inform prioritisation. You’ll support the communication and resolution of live product incidents and effectively prioritise, coordinate and communicate the resolution of production issues.

- You’re a great communicator. You can land messages clearly with stakeholders, generating energy and driving consensus even when we’re having to make tough decisions and can articulate a compelling vision and goals for your product.
- You’re a Product enthusiast. You’re dedicated to value balancing the customer and the tech; you have an enthusiasm for delivering change through people and technology, you appreciate how to prioritise and deliver on outcomes, and you understand agile delivery and engineering practices. You want to get stuck into our product community and continuously develop – to start or to develop your Product career.
- You’re a curious person. You are technically curious; you keep your finger on the pulse of what’s going on in the industry and are aware of key trends influencing sustainability and your team’s group of products.
- You’re proactive and pragmatic. You are a self-starter, able to push ahead and bring people with you, building productive relationships internally and externally. You are comfortable dealing with ambiguous situations and helping drive toward clarity and you understand how data can be used to influence decisions.
- Additionally, any experience of Salesforce Marketing Cloud or any understanding of this tooling would be useful but is not essential.
