About us
We are Bestway Healthcare, a leading pharmaceutical company. Our retail pharmacy business unit operates Well Pharmacy, the largest independent retail pharmacy chain in the UK and second largest overall. Our wholesale business unit operates two pharmaceutical wholesale brands, Lexon and Bestway Medhub which combined support over 5,000 independent community pharmacy contractors, processing over 100m packs of medication every year making us the 4th largest pharmaceutical wholesaler in the United Kingdom.
The opportunity
We're looking for experienced Product Managers to join our Digital Product team and own key parts of our patient and customer experience. We have several roles available across our digital and clinical platforms, supporting NHS prescriptions, private clinics, and eCommerce across multiple brands. Today these run on a mix of Magento, BigCommerce, and React Native, and each role will help shape their evolution as part of a broader five-year digital transformation.
These roles sit at the heart of that transformation: guiding outsourced development squads, ensuring work aligns with business priorities, and championing patient-centred digital journeys. Our ambition is bold: to build a unified, connected healthcare ecosystem that puts patients and customers at the centre of everything we do – regardless of how they interact with us.
Main Responsibilities
- Support the Head of Product in shaping a true product culture – one where every team member knows the product inside out: the commercials, the metrics, and the patient needs, along with a clear sense of direction and a genuine voice in shaping it.
- Own the product vision and roadmap for your platform(s), working across multiple brands where relevant.
- Guide remote and distributed squads, providing continuity across teams working on shared technical foundations.
- Act as the day-to-day line of direction for engineers and UX on your team.
- Partner with business stakeholders to shape requirements and priorities, balancing near-term delivery with longer-term strategic goals.
- Own the commercial performance of your platform(s) against the relevant P&L, tracking key metrics and using them to prioritise and justify roadmap decisions.
- Ensure workstreams meet regulatory, clinical, and commercial needs while driving measurable impact for patients and customers.
- Translate requirements into clear, actionable product increments and acceptance criteria.
- Monitor progress and proactively flag risks, misalignments, or delivery concerns.
- Drive continuous optimisation of digital journeys to improve conversion, retention, and patient experience.
- Collaborate with other Product Managers to ensure your initiatives are integrated into the wider digital product landscape.
- Communicate clearly and confidently with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Work pragmatically in a fast-moving environment with evolving priorities and high visibility.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Ideal Candidate
- Strong product management experience across digital platforms (web and/or app), ideally in multi-brand or multi-service contexts.
- Proven ability to deliver in complex, regulated, or highly integrated environments (healthcare experience an advantage but not essential).
- Experience guiding outsourced or distributed squads, with a balance of oversight and empowerment.
- Skilled at collaborating with engineering, UX, data, and business stakeholders to align priorities and deliver outcomes.
- Commercially astute: able to link product decisions to measurable impact (revenue, conversion, retention, efficiency, or patient experience) without losing sight of the outcomes that matter beyond the bottom line.
- Strong technical acumen: comfortable with backend integrations, APIs, and third-party platforms, with the depth to guide and challenge engineering approaches directly, not just at a high level.
- A best-in-class mentality: someone who benchmarks our platforms against the best digital experiences anywhere – not just healthcare – and doesn't ask patients to lower their expectations simply because it's a health product. Pragmatic about what a true MVP looks like, but never about the standard we're aiming for.
- Comfortable managing ambiguity: able to cut through complexity, clarify scope, and keep delivery on track.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
