As a Product Marketing Manager for Univar Solutions, you will drive the P&L performance of the Foodology (Food Ingredients) specialty and differentiated product lines across multiple industry market segments. This position will work closely with key suppliers and internal personnel to support successful long-term growth and will collaborate with customers, suppliers, field management, Application Development Specialists, and field sales to establish and implement successful programs that benefit both Univar Europe and our suppliers.

What you'll do

  • Responsible for business relationships with suppliers. This includes mapping and engaging interactions with management, technical, marketing, and supply teams.
  • Accountable for P&L of selected product/s within market segments.
  • Assist in the implementation, and execution, of the procurement, supply, sales, marketing, financial and logistical strategy.
  • Support and own the negotiation of pricing and buying plans.
  • Work closely with procurement, finance, and accounts payable to resolve supplier issues and remove supply chain issues.
  • Work closely with marketing on campaigns, push products, and supplier engagement.
  • Provide regular market updates to the field sales organization on assigned products, and coordinates training with suppliers for both technical and commercial.
  • Prepare and submits reports as advised.
  • Provide mentorship to Field Sales Organization, and others, on day-to-day issues, i.e. pricing, service, procurement, and supply.
  • Facilitate business growth and communications relevant to the assigned market.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Chemistry or Food Science preferred)
  • Successful experience (5 years minimum) in product management.
  • Food Ingredients industry experience is preferred.
  • Analytical proven skills are needed to develop strategic data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to develop and grow strong relationships with key suppliers and cross-functional partners (Marketing, Procurement, Finance, etc.).
  • High level of decision-making ability, balancing supplier needs and company objectives.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle diverse and significant workloads.
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation abilities.
  • Proven financial leadership skills.
  • Broad knowledge of chemical / food ingredient distribution business and functions.
  • Willing to travel for supplier meetings, customer visits, trade shows and training.

Where you'll work

This is a hybrid opportunity. This role will spend 1-2 days a week at one of our offices. Office locations: Bradford/ Coventry/Chertsey. or may be Home Based.
