About Customer Development
Customer Development is a critical area of focus for Information & Analytics. In support of the CD strategy, our objective is to make the right decisions, faster than anyone else in the industry, to drive growth and competitive advantage throughout our end-to-end consumer experience, customer and store engagement, employee experience, and optimization of our operations.
The needs of customers, stores, distributors, shoppers, and employees are changing, and we must support customer development in evolving to meet their needs through data and analytics:
- Customers need… us to help them grow categories, drive penetration, frequency, and basket size through promotion, assure on-shelf availability at the lowest possible cost, and grow their own margin through improved trade terms.
- Stores need… to be better served by us through direct reach, improved service quality, and support to create brilliant store experiences.
- Shoppers need… what they want, when they want it, available in their store of choice (off or online), with the right assortment aligned to the shopping mission they are on, activated based on a “segment of one”.
- CD employees need… better data, better insights, better tools to do their jobs more effectively.

Role Overview
This role will lead the Perfect Store Products in MT Execution (OSA, PICOS, and Perfect Store Reporting). Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Working with senior leaders (WL3) to understand their business problems and delivering excellent analytical solutions to address these.
- Lead the Design and Delivery of Horizon2 for data products and activation in the markets.
- Lead a team of 5+ including 3PP teams on delivering the store-level execution across locations.
- Explore opportunities with the business teams and deliver analytical summary that can yield to Next Best Action for the Market / Division teams.
- Establish and operationalize Execution Product as A Service by partnering with necessary counterparts and create impactful business cases across Markets and functions.
- Ensure On Time In Full delivery of all Product deployments.
- Accountable for engaging and expanding CD Execution Programs across Unilever including partner with Global Organized Retail teams, CD Group, and work with Data Science teams on Azure based solution and create Next Gen toolkit to allow markets and functions for effective decision making.
- Delivering Analytical CD Execution products that have key impact on UPG, Gross Profit, and Gross Margin of Unilever.
- Create actionable insights and work with markets on autonomous no touch Perfect Store products in future and bring about transformational changes in the way CD Execution are decided in Markets.
- Program Manage the Unilever Perfect Store Program along with necessary stakeholder management with creation of demand generations and creating avenues to generate more value across.
Key Accountabilities:
- Develop a very good understanding of Unilever Information & Analytics Strategy and ensure alignment of team’s priorities to the strategy.
- Work closely with the Markets, functions, Business teams, Business Units, and Business Group leads and the CD Execution Steer Comm to support decision process is seamless.
- Design and build descriptive analytics solutions for senior leadership teams along with piloting in Prescriptive / Predictive modelling.
- Build and manage relationship with stakeholders and extended teams.
- Drive operational excellence within the team.
- Ensure adherence to SLA by 3PP and drive user satisfaction.
- Responsible for adherence to Unilever Control and compliance policies.
- Responsible and accountable for bringing in new tools and technologies, around visualization, automation, and data, to enable faster delivery.
- Responsible and accountable for driving Perfect Store Product as a service and ensure Market signs up the run costs / program manage the budgets.
- Co-partner on establishing governance on Perfect Store Control tower processes with Core partners in CD and deliver business process, controls using Perfect Store framework.
- Drive LEAN, Agile, and Design Thinking methodology and educate end users on the core process / governance.
- Mentor team on continuous improvement which will includes:
- Improved ways of working between engagement, tracking.
- Simplification and Standardization.
- Analytics toolkits and Automation accelerators.
- Design thinking and Agile Scrum Approach.
- Program management and functional know-how of the use cases.
- Assessment framework on DevOps model of working.

Essential Qualifications:
- 10 to 12 years of relevant experience in data & analytics.
- At least 8 years of experience in leading cross-functional teams.
- Exposure to visualization tools like PBI, Webapp, or other data blending tools.
- Working know-how in Data Blending tools and technologies.
- Working know-how of Design Thinking or DevOps models along with Agile Scrum.
- Exposure and good learning in Data Science would be preferred.
General Skills:
- Excellent communication, active listening, and presentation skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the organisation.
- Passion for delivering service excellence; and developing a culture of “easy to do business with”, where customer’s needs are anticipated.
- Highly analytical mindset with strong ability to identify, troubleshoot, problem-solve, and resolve issues. Passion for simplification and continuous improvement.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with team members to understand and develop technology solutions for business needs.
- Organised, strong time management skills, and ability to prioritise multiple tasks to meet established deadlines.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately, especially under pressure; and within a cross-culture and global environment.
- Ability to work with a broad, virtual team.
- Analytically minded with good numerical ability and logical reasoning.
- FMCG background, preferably with end-to-end process knowledge.
