WMS Product Manager (Contract)

Join a leading UK retailer on a major warehouse technology programme, helping to shape the future of its food supply chain. This is a key contract role where you'll take ownership of a business-critical Warehouse Management System, balancing operational stability with continuous improvement.

Role Overview

  • Location: Remote with occasional travel as required along the M1 Corridor (driving license and own vehicle required for flexibility)
  • Duration: 12-month contract (minimum) with strong potential for extension
  • Budget: £400 - £500pd Inside IR35
  • Industry: Retail / Supply Chain / Warehouse Management

What You'll Be Doing

  • Take ownership of the legacy Food Warehouse Management System product, ensuring it continues to support day-to-day operations effectively.
  • Manage and prioritise the product backlog, aligning work with business priorities and operational needs.
  • Define, maintain and communicate the product roadmap to key stakeholders.
  • Safeguard the stability and performance of the live WMS environment while driving continuous improvements.
  • Deliver system enhancements, including initiatives such as paperless loading.
  • Work closely with operational and technical teams to translate business requirements into clear product deliverables.
  • Champion Agile ways of working and drive backlog-led product delivery.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to ensure successful delivery and adoption of product enhancements.
  • Support future innovation and modernisation initiatives across the warehouse technology landscape.

Main Skills Needed

  • Proven experience as a Product Manager within a Warehouse Management or supply chain environment.
  • Strong hands-on experience with RedPrairie (Blue Yonder / JDA) Warehouse Management System, ideally within food or retail operations.
  • Demonstrable experience owning product backlogs and defining product roadmaps.
  • Experience maintaining stability of live, business-critical operational systems.
  • Strong track record of delivering product enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate business needs into actionable product requirements.
  • Experience working within Agile product delivery environments.
  • Exposure to warehouse automation technologies, including Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of legacy WMS modernisation or migration programmes would be beneficial.
