Flexible Working

About The Role

The Messaging Team is responsible for BT's Application-to-Person (A2P) messaging services across the EE network, enabling businesses to communicate securely and effectively with millions of customers every day.

As a Product Manager for Wholesale Messaging, you will play a pivotal role in delivering the operational foundations and future growth of BT's messaging portfolio. Combining product management, industry collaboration and process innovation, you will help scale trusted business communications across SMS, RCS and emerging messaging channels while influencing the future direction of the messaging ecosystem.

From critical SMS notifications to the next generation of trusted business messaging through Rich Communication Services (RCS), we play a central role in shaping how organisations connect with their customers.

With a strong focus on messaging security, trust and customer protection, the team leads the verification of RCS agents and works closely with industry partners to drive the future of sustainable business communications.

As the Messaging team evolves, this role may expand to include line management responsibilities, providing an opportunity to coach, mentor and develop future team members while helping shape the future structure of the function.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Gather customer, partner and industry insights to identify emerging trends, validate opportunities and shape product roadmaps and future messaging strategy.
  • Own and evolve the RCS Business Messaging onboarding and verification journey, creating scalable processes that support growth while maintaining quality, compliance and customer trust.
  • Lead strategic initiatives that improve the scalability, efficiency and performance of BT's messaging products and services.
  • Develop and manage product performance reporting, using data and automation to support decision-making, continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Build strong relationships across the messaging ecosystem, representing BT with operators, aggregators, technology partners and industry bodies.
  • Collaborate with commercial and account management teams to support go-to-market activities, partner engagement and business growth.
  • Influence industry standards and identify opportunities that support the future development of trusted business messaging.
  • Operate effectively at both strategic and operational levels, taking a hands-on approach to solving problems, improving processes and delivering outcomes.
  • Support the development of team capability through coaching, mentoring and knowledge sharing, helping to build expertise across the Messaging team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
