The Role

The Product Owner, Digital Sportsbook, is a distinctive role that sits at the intersection of Sportsbook product ownership and customer experience. This person brings together the disciplines of Sportsbook product strategy and a strong customer experience lens to bring significant value to OpenBet’s Partners and their Customers.

This role owns multiple Sportsbook front-end product areas and features; defining their vision, backlog and delivery, while ensuring the user experience across mobile, apps and web meets the highest standards.

The Product Owner will be familiar with AI tools such as Co-pilot, Claude, Cursor, Rovo or other tools and will be able to demonstrate using these tools to good effect to augment day to day and strategic tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product backlog and roadmap for multiple Sportsbook front-end teams and features across mobile, apps and web, ensuring stories are clearly defined, prioritised and ready for sprints
  • Lead end-to-end customer experience for owned features, including: user research, customer journey mapping, wireframing and interactive prototyping
  • Support user research (usability testing, interviews, surveys), translating findings into validated product hypotheses, backlog priorities and acceptance criteria
  • Transform high-level initiatives and epics into well-defined, sprint-ready user stories with clear, testable acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering teams throughout delivery; clarifying requirements, reviewing builds against design specifications, and ensuring the implemented experience matches the intended design, through human interaction and AI tools
  • Champion accessibility, usability and design consistency across the Sportsbook customer-facing estate, contributing to and maintaining UX standards and a Sportsbook design system
  • Partner with the Sportsbook Product Manager to articulate the product vision, contributing customer experience perspectives to roadmap prioritisation and strategic decisions
  • Participate in and present Product roadmaps, initiatives and features to Partners and new Customers
  • Use data and analytics alongside qualitative research to identify friction points, opportunities for conversion improvement, and areas for retention-enhancing personalisation
  • Define and track product KPIs for owned features
  • Facilitate design ideation, sprint reviews and stakeholder walkthroughs, presenting product recommendations and their strategic rationale with confidence
  • Stay current with Sportsbook market trends, competitor experiences and emerging design patterns, identifying opportunities to continue to evolve OpenBet's customer experience advantage
  • Contribute to the wider product pillar backlog and cross-functional product strategy discussions, representing both user needs and product quality

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
