Product Owner, Claims

Up to £90,000 | Hybrid, 2 days a week | Financial Services

Most Product Owner roles hand you a backlog and a set of ceremonies someone else designed. This one asks you to build the model. Our client, a well-established UK based FS business, is about to go live on a new claims platform. They want their first dedicated Product Owner to take claims out of programme mode and into genuine, long-term product ownership.

You'll set the vision, shape the roadmap, and define what good product ownership looks like in a business where it hasn't existed outside a programme before. As more product squads follow, yours becomes the template.

The Role

  • Own the claims product vision and roadmap, and turn business strategy into a prioritised backlog.
  • Lead the handover from programme delivery into continuous improvement, including reviewing and reshaping an inherited backlog of 100+ items.
  • Set up product ownership from the ground up: ways of working, decision rights, success measures and a clear North Star.
  • Identify and deliver early wins after go-live that show the business what product ownership can do.
  • Shape a phased roadmap for automation and straight-through processing, working with data and AI colleagues.
  • Manage an agreed change budget, with every change backed by a clear benefit case.
  • Make sure change meets FCA Consumer Duty, conduct and data protection requirements.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
