About 1st Formations

At 1st Formations, we empower entrepreneurs to start, run, and grow their businesses with confidence. Running a business shouldn’t be slowed down by company formation, statutory compliance, accounting, or payroll. From day one, these essentials should be seamless, reliable, and intelligently handled — freeing founders to focus on building and scaling. We’re a leading UK provider of company formation and compliance services, building a modern, fully integrated technology platform that supports founders at every stage of their journey. Our platform brings together formation, compliance, accounting, payroll, and ongoing business support in one cohesive experience. No stitched-together services. No legacy workflows disguised as software. Just a single, scalable platform built for ambitious founders who want to move fast, stay compliant, and grow with confidence.

Why Join Us Now?

You’ll be joining a business with strong momentum, clear direction, and real opportunity for progression.

  • £18m annual revenue, including £9m ARR
  • Over 1 million companies formed
  • Certified B Corp and Carbon Neutral Business
  • Forecast to grow 5x–10x over the next three years

The Role

As Product Owner (Data & Delivery), you'll own one product area end to end, from requirement through to released, accepted and measured. Working to the Senior Product Manager, you'll turn agreed outcomes into well-shaped requirements, a prioritised backlog and released changes that work for customers, operations and commercial teams.

The role is data-led. You'll define the measures that matter for your area, query the data yourself rather than waiting to be told what it shows, and work with our Data and Analytics Lead to turn data needs into clear specifications. Quality is part of the job too: you'll own business acceptance, defect triage and release readiness, with changes you specified accepted by our Product Quality Analyst, and theirs by you. You'll also play a significant part in our platform migration programme, covering requirements, scoping, prototyping and testing.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own delivery of your product workstreams end to end, from refined requirement to release and post-release review.
  • Turn outcomes set by the Senior Product Manager or CPO into clear epics, user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Own and prioritise the backlog, running refinement, planning and review with engineering and design.
  • Manage dependencies and risks, and keep operations, support and commercial teams informed on scope and timing.
  • Define success measures, baselines and targets for each workstream before build starts.
  • Query data directly to size problems, test assumptions and challenge analytical outputs before they're relied on.
  • Analyse funnels, cohorts and drop-off to find where journeys fail and where the commercial opportunity sits.
  • Design and interpret A/B tests, and specify tracking for every change so it's measurable from release.
  • Own reporting for your area, recommending whether to iterate, scale or stop after release.
  • Shape and test platform migration work, including requirements, data mapping, prototyping, reconciliation and dry runs.
  • Own business acceptance, defect triage and release readiness, accepting the Product Quality Analyst's changes and having yours accepted by them.
  • Validate end-to-end customer journeys, including compliance-sensitive steps, and make sure each release has the documentation the business needs.

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years' experience as a Product Owner, Product Analyst or in Product Operations within a digital product environment, including time owning delivery of a workstream rather than supporting one.
  • Strong hands-on data skills, including writing your own SQL and working confidently with large datasets, so you can answer your own questions and form a view from the data.
  • Sound analytical judgement: you separate signal from noise, recognise when a number isn't reliable, and say so.
  • Experience using funnel, cohort and retention analysis to change what a team builds.
  • Experience designing and interpreting A/B tests, including sample sizing and an honest reading of inconclusive results.
  • Experience defining tracking and event requirements, using tools such as Mixpanel, Amplitude or GA4.
  • Confidence writing clear, testable user stories and acceptance criteria, and running refinement with engineering in an Agile team using tools such as Linear, Jira or Asana.
  • Experience of business or user acceptance testing (BAT/UAT), validating end-to-end customer journeys across web platforms, and holding the line on readiness before release.
  • The ability to take a defined outcome and run it to delivery, making sound trade-offs between value, effort, risk and dependency.
  • Commercial awareness of how product changes affect conversion, revenue, cost to serve and operational load.
  • Clear written and verbal communication across Product, Engineering, Data, Operations, Support and Commercial teams, with the pace and pragmatism to know when good enough is the right answer.
  • A degree in a numerate, business or technology discipline, or equivalent practical experience. Data or platform migration experience (requirements, data mapping, reconciliation and testing) is a strong advantage, and experience in a regulated environment.
