Role Summary

We are looking for a Product Owner specialising in Data & Analytics to lead the development and delivery of data products across a consumer-facing business. You will act as the link between business stakeholders and technical teams, owning the product roadmap, priorities and delivery backlog. The role will focus on ensuring reporting, analytics, data platforms and emerging AI capabilities solve genuine business problems and deliver measurable value. You will work closely with Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, BI Developers and stakeholders across areas such as Finance, Marketing, CRM, Operations and Commercial teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the Data & Analytics product roadmap and delivery backlog.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand business problems, priorities and user requirements.
  • Translate business requirements into epics, user stories, acceptance criteria and measurable outcomes.
  • Prioritise work based on business value, strategic importance, effort, risk and dependencies.
  • Work with technical teams throughout discovery, design, development, testing and release.
  • Support Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews and demonstrations.
  • Lead the delivery of data products including dashboards, operational reporting, commercial analytics, customer/CRM analytics and financial insight.
  • Ensure consistent KPI definitions and promote trusted, easy-to-use reporting and self-service analytics.
  • Identify opportunities to use automation, advanced analytics and AI to improve decision-making and efficiency.
  • Drive adoption of new data products through stakeholder engagement, communications and training.
  • Monitor product usage and feedback to continually improve the roadmap and backlog.
  • Ensure products meet appropriate data governance, quality, privacy, security and compliance standards.

Required Skillset

  • Around 5+ years' relevant experience within Product Ownership, Product Management, Business Analysis, Analytics Delivery or a similar role.
  • Strong experience delivering data, analytics, BI, reporting or data platform products.
  • Experience owning and prioritising product roadmaps and Agile backlogs.
  • Strong understanding of Agile delivery, including Scrum and/or Kanban.
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear technical delivery requirements and user stories.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including working with senior business stakeholders and multidisciplinary technical teams.
  • Understanding of reporting, dashboards, KPIs and the analytics product lifecycle.
  • Working knowledge of data warehousing, data integration, data quality and data governance.
  • Familiarity with technologies such as Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, SQL and Azure DevOps or Jira.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and commercial decision-making skills.
  • Experience driving product adoption, change and continuous improvement.
  • Comfortable working across multiple teams, priorities and dependencies within a matrix organisation.

Additional Details

This is an initial 6 Month FTC, with lots of room for extensions, and requires 2-3 days p/w onsite near Watford.
