Technical Product Owner | AI Software

Junior to Mid-Level | Up to £70,000 | Hybrid Belfast

Are you a technically minded Product Owner, or perhaps a Software Engineer who's found themselves increasingly involved in the product side of development?

Are you also someone who is constantly experimenting with AI, testing new tools and looking at how technology can change the way software is built?

I'm working with a growing international software company that is looking to hire a Technical Product Owner to join its Belfast team. This isn't your typical Product Owner role. The company has adopted an AI-first approach to software development and wants someone who genuinely shares that mindset. Someone who is technically curious, ambitious and excited about how AI is changing the way products are designed and delivered.

They're particularly interested in people at the earlier stages of their careers who have a real drive to learn and develop.

The Opportunity

You'll work closely with a team of Software Engineers, helping shape products and features from initial ideas through to delivery.

This isn't about simply managing a backlog or writing tickets. You'll be involved in understanding customer problems, exploring technical solutions, defining product requirements and making decisions about what gets built.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Use AI tools daily to research, prototype, explore technical solutions and improve how products are developed.
  • Experiment with emerging AI technologies and identify opportunities to introduce them into existing workflows.
  • Help shape product features, user journeys and technical requirements.
  • Get involved in technical discussions around APIs, integrations, data flows and software architecture.
  • Take ownership of product initiatives from initial concept through development, testing and release.

The most important thing is your technical mindset, passion for AI and willingness to learn.

We're particularly interested in people who are already pushing themselves to learn about AI, whether that's building small projects, experimenting with AI coding tools, creating prototypes or finding ways to improve how they work.

For Software Engineers considering a move towards Product, this could be a particularly interesting opportunity if you're already involved in deciding what gets built, speaking with stakeholders and shaping technical solutions.

Why It's Worth Considering

  • Salary up to £70,000 depending on experience.
  • Hybrid working in Belfast.
  • Join a growing international software business.
  • Work alongside highly technical engineers who actively use AI in their development process.
  • Genuine ownership of product features and initiatives.
  • Opportunity to experiment with emerging AI tools and technologies.
  • Learning and development opportunities, including a dedicated learning budget.
  • Exposure to experienced product and engineering professionals.

If you're passionate about AI, enjoy solving technical problems and want to develop your career in a product-focused role, I'd love to have a conversation.
