Job Description

Location

Birmingham, Telford and Edinburgh. Hybrid working with time spent in office and at home.

Salary and Benefits

Up to £55,000 plus an indicative bonus of indicative range of 16-32% private medical cover, 38 days annual leave, excellent pension, 12x salary life assurance, career breaks, income protection, 3x volunteering days and much more.

The Role

As a Product Owner within our Customer Digital team, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, customer-centred digital experiences across our secure digital platforms.

You will work closely with delivery squads, stakeholders and partners to translate customer and business needs into well-defined, prioritised backlog items, ensuring delivery is focused, effective and aligned to customer outcomes.

This role is ideal for someone with hands-on digital delivery experience who enjoys working at pace in an Agile environment and is passionate about improving customer journeys through digital. You’ll collaborate across business, technology and delivery teams, helping ensure work is clearly defined, sequenced and delivers measurable value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage a product backlog, ensuring priorities are clear and aligned to customer and business needs
  • Work with stakeholders to capture, shape and refine requirements into actionable user stories
  • Collaborate closely with Agile delivery squads to support and enable effective delivery
  • Ensure work is well-defined, understood and ready for development
  • Support prioritisation decisions, balancing customer value, risk and delivery capacity
  • Monitor delivery progress and help remove blockers or clarify requirements
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of digital journeys and customer outcomes
  • Build strong working relationships across Customer Digital, Technology, Change and the wider business

What are we looking for?

Essential

  • Experience working in a Product Owner, Business Analyst or similar digital delivery role
  • Proven experience delivering customer-facing digital products or services (web and/or app)
  • Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies
  • Ability to translate business needs into clear, structured requirements or user stories
  • Stakeholder engagement skills, with confidence working across multiple teams
  • A passion for improving customer outcomes through digital

Desirable

  • Experience working within regulated or complex organisational environments
  • Exposure to end-to-end digital product delivery
  • Experience working with third-party suppliers or multi-supplier models
