Role: Product Owner for Middle Office Processing
As a Product Owner for Middle Office processing, you will own the delivery roadmap and product backlog for specific functional areas within the cleared derivatives trade clearing domain. You will be responsible for maximising the value of the product resulting from the work of the development teams – sharing product goals, managing and prioritising the backlog, and ensuring delivery is consistent with the specifications and business needs.
This role sits at the intersection of deep cleared derivatives domain knowledge, product ownership and Agile delivery. You will bring first-hand understanding of middle office trade clearing operations (for example through platforms such as Clearvision or equivalent) and use it to drive a resilient, scalable and client-centric product.
Duties and Responsibilities
As a product owner:
- Own the delivery roadmap for specific functional areas related to middle office processing of cleared / exchange-listed derivatives.
- Own the product backlog and be responsible for maximising the value of the product resulting from the work of the development teams – sharing product goals, refining and prioritising the backlog, and ensuring delivery is consistent with specifications.
- Define and communicate product vision, KPIs and OKRs, prioritising initiatives based on business value while balancing long-term strategy with the demands of live production environments.
- Proactively work with the other product owners and the head of product management on the global product roadmap and cross-functional topics.
- Bring deep functional expertise in the cleared / exchange-listed derivatives space, specifically the middle office trade clearing lifecycle (trade capture, allocation, give-up/take-up, position and lifecycle management, and reconciliation).
- Translate complex trade clearing and middle office requirements into clear, customer-centric features and user stories for the development teams.
- Act as the domain subject matter expert for the product, leveraging hands-on experience with middle office clearing platforms such as Clearvision (or equivalent) to guide design decisions.
- Act as the primary interface between business stakeholders, operations teams, external exchanges, vendors and technology delivery teams, providing clear reporting and delivery governance updates.
- Drive Agile delivery across concurrent workstreams – managing delivery plans, feature prioritisation, dependencies, release readiness and production handover activities.
- Lead resolution of major incidents in mission-critical production environments, conducting root cause analysis and implementing preventative measures to improve stability and reduce recurrence.
- Ensure adherence to SDLC, change management, cyber security and regulatory frameworks relevant to cleared derivatives (e.g. Eurex C7, EMIR Refit, FIA).
- Support audits and contribute to strong governance across regions and jurisdictions, championing operational and production readiness.
- Champion reliability, resilience, observability and performance for a platform supporting high-volume derivatives processing.

- 5+ years of proven experience leading projects or products within this business domain.
- Proven experience of functional expertise in exchange-listed / cleared derivatives middle office operations, with a strong understanding of the trade clearing lifecycle.
- Hands-on knowledge of a middle office clearing solution – Clearvision or an equivalent platform.
- Proven product ownership experience, owning a product backlog and roadmap, driving quarterly planning, OKRs and value-based prioritisation.
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership across engineering, product, operations, security and business teams.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance frameworks in the derivatives space (e.g. Eurex C7, EMIR Refit, FIA).
- A strong sense of ownership, excellent communication skills, and experience working in a multi-cultural, multi-regional environment.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment is a plus.

- Must be educated to at least degree level or equivalent.
