Product Owner

Location: Manchester - (3 days on-site)
Salary: £65,000 - £70,000, plus bonus of up to 12%
Type: Permanent

Maxwell Bond is working with a leading organisation in the retail and logistics technology space, currently undergoing significant digital transformation. They are seeking a product owner to take responsibility for a critical operations technology landscape and drive meaningful business impact.

This is a high-visibility role where the successful candidate will act as the bridge between business stakeholders, operational teams, and engineering, ensuring that complex systems deliver measurable value across warehousing, transport, and supply chain functions.

The Opportunity

As a product owner, you will take end-to-end ownership of a suite of operational systems, including WMS, ERP, and transport platforms. You’ll shape product direction, define priorities, and ensure delivery aligns with strategic goals while maintaining a strong focus on value, performance, and scalability.

You’ll be working in a fast-paced, enterprise environment where collaboration, clarity, and continuous improvement are key. This role offers the chance to influence how technology supports large-scale operations and to make a tangible impact across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage a complex product backlog across multiple operational systems
  • Translate business strategy into clear product goals, user stories, and deliverables
  • Work closely with delivery teams to ensure priorities, scope, and outcomes are aligned
  • Engage stakeholders across operations, technology, and leadership to drive decisions
  • Ensure systems remain fit for purpose, scalable, and continuously improved
  • Oversee supplier relationships, cost control, and product performance in BAU environments
  • Proactively manage risks, dependencies, and operational impacts

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience working as a product owner (or in a similar product-focused role)
  • Strong understanding of enterprise systems such as WMS, ERP, or supply chain platforms
  • Experience operating in Agile environments with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to translate complex operational needs into clear technical requirements
  • Confidence engaging senior stakeholders and driving outcomes
  • Strong awareness of data flows, integrations, and system interactions
