The Role
We are looking for a Product Owner to join our Digital Platforms team. In this role you will be accountable for translating Digital Platform strategy and Business Unit needs into a clear, prioritised and delivery-ready backlog.
Working at the interface between customers, business stakeholders and multidisciplinary delivery teams, the role ensures that each increment delivers measurable user and business value while meeting agreed quality, security and governance expectations.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of digital platforms used across global business units, driving customer value, adoption and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Build a deep understanding of users, customers, operational processes and commercial priorities.
- Shape and maintain outcomes, Epics, Features, Stories, acceptance criteria and non-functional requirements.
- Prioritise the backlog using value, evidence, risk, dependencies, capacity and strategic alignment.
- Ensure backlog items are sufficiently clear and ready ahead of quarterly and sprint planning.
- Work daily with engineering, UX, data, QA, architecture, cybersecurity and delivery colleagues to clarify needs and unblock decisions.
- Participate in planning, refinement and review; accept or reject completed work against agreed criteria and Definition of Done.
- Coordinate stakeholder input, user research, UAT ownership and feedback loops across Business Units.
- Keep roadmap, backlog, decisions, dependencies, risks and supporting documentation current and traceable.
- Manage dependencies and shared-platform impacts across product areas, integrations and downstream consumers.
- Support release readiness, adoption, communications, training and go-to-market activity with relevant teams; participate in post-incident reviews and ensure lessons shape the backlog and ways of working.
- Promote consistent Digital Factory ways of working and continuous improvement across product activity.
- Make appropriate use of modern productivity, analysis and collaboration tooling to accelerate discovery, refinement and documentation, while remaining accountable for the accuracy and quality of all backlog content.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
