Location: Buckinghamshire (Hybrid – 3 days per week onsite)
A growing software company operating within the life sciences and advanced analytics sector is seeking an experienced Product Owner to join its team. The organisation develops specialist SaaS solutions used by global pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies to support complex operational and commercial decision-making.
With a significant investment in product innovation and the transition towards an AI-enabled platform, this role offers the opportunity to play a key part in shaping delivery processes, driving product execution, and helping embed AI-assisted ways of working across the business.
The Opportunity
As Product Owner, you will act as the bridge between Product, Engineering, and key business stakeholders, ensuring priorities are clearly defined, requirements are actionable, and delivery remains focused on business value.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys bringing structure to product development environments, maintaining delivery momentum, and enabling engineering teams to work efficiently through well-defined requirements and prioritised backlogs.

- Own and maintain the product backlog, including epics, features, and requirements.
- Ensure the backlog remains the single source of truth for delivery activities.
- Prioritise and refine work in line with business objectives and product strategy.
Sprint Planning & Delivery
- Ensure requirements are sufficiently defined and ready for development before sprint planning.
- Validate completed work against agreed acceptance criteria.
- Support agile delivery practices and effective sprint ceremonies.
AI-Enabled Product Delivery
- Utilise AI-powered tools to support requirement creation, refinement, validation, and decomposition.
- Promote AI-assisted delivery practices to improve efficiency, quality, and speed of execution.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Provide clear updates on delivery progress, risks, dependencies, and key decisions.
- Maintain transparency across product and engineering activities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as the primary interface between product and engineering functions.
- Facilitate prioritisation discussions, scope decisions, and delivery trade-offs.
- Ensure key decisions are documented and reflected accurately within delivery systems.

About You
Essential Experience
- Proven experience in a Product Owner, Technical Product Owner, or similar role within a SaaS or software development environment.
- Strong understanding of agile delivery methodologies, sprint planning, and backlog management.
- Experience writing clear user stories, requirements, and acceptance criteria.
- Confidence using AI tools to support product and delivery processes.
- Experience with Azure DevOps or similar delivery management platforms.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Desirable Experience
- Exposure to regulated industries.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical, biotech, medtech, GxP, or GAMP environments.
- Experience working within data-led, scientific, or technology-driven organisations.
