Product Owner
Product Delivery and Backlog
Help manage the portfolio's applications across their full lifecycle, from discovery through delivery, release, and iteration.
- Own the application backlog: write user stories and acceptance criteria, and prioritise features, defects, and technical debt by value, risk, complexity, dependencies, and impact on live-service users.
- Work with architects, engineers, developers, and testers, including in Agile ceremonies, so that requirements are understood and delivered as intended.
- Coordinate user acceptance testing, release readiness, and post-release improvement, contributing to release notes, guidance, training, and stakeholder communications.

Work with support teams to monitor performance, incidents, and service levels, and feed what they reveal into the backlog.

- Manage configuration, release, and upgrade cycles, tracking vendor roadmaps and supported versions, with a strong working knowledge of the estate, its integrations, and dependencies.
- Combine usage evidence with user feedback to inform product decisions, measure outcomes, and promote adoption.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Strong understanding of product management, product ownership, and business analysis practice across the application lifecycle, from build to live service and retirement.
- SAFe trained or certified, with familiarity with ITIL or equivalent service management practice (incident, problem, change, and release).
- Understanding of application integration, APIs, system interfaces, and the data that flows between them.
- Experience of managing vendor-supplied or COTS applications, including upgrade cycles, licensing, and supplier relationships.
- Experience with line-of-business, engineering, asset management, workflow, or operational decision-support applications, ideally in energy, electricity transmission, or asset and operations sectors.
- Experience of process mapping, current-state to future-state analysis, and supporting governance forums with clear analysis, decision logs, and executive-level summaries.
