Product Owner (Contract)
Day Rate: £450 day (IR35 TBC)
Location: Remote, with travel to Leeds or London 2-3 times per month
Contract: 6 months
Start Date: Mid-August
We're looking for an experienced Product Owner to join a high-profile digital healthcare programme, helping to deliver products that make a meaningful impact.
This role will focus primarily on a mobile application, with some web-based product work, supporting the delivery of digital services for people with complex health needs.
The Role
As Product Owner, you'll work closely with delivery teams and stakeholders to translate product vision into actionable priorities, ensuring high-quality outcomes are delivered at pace.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning and prioritising the product backlog, writing clear, well-defined user stories and acceptance criteria
- Working closely with Developers, Business Analysts and User Researchers throughout the product lifecycle
- Leading sprint planning and backlog refinement, ensuring the team remains focused on delivering against the product vision
- Motivating and guiding delivery teams to achieve shared objectives and meet project deadlines
- Collaborating with stakeholders to shape future roadmap priorities and product direction
- Supporting the delivery of user-centred digital services in line with GDS standards and agile best practices
- Using user research, data and stakeholder feedback to inform product decisions

Requirements
We're looking for someone who has:
- Proven experience as a Product Owner
- Experience delivering digital products within health-tech, healthcare, or other complex, user-focused industries
- Strong knowledge of GDS (Government Digital Service) standards and agile delivery
- Experience working on products that support care plans for people with complex health needs
- Strong mobile app product experience, with some exposure to web products
- Excellent backlog management skills, including writing high-quality user stories and tickets
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams, including developers, Business Analysts and User Researchers
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to balance user needs, technical constraints and delivery priorities
