The Role

The Product Owner – Customer Portal is responsible for evolving World Courier’s suite of customer-facing portal experiences into modern, scalable, intuitive, and increasingly AI-enabled digital platforms that support global operations, enhance customer engagement.

Why this role matters

Customer portals are central to how customers interact with World Courier—placing orders, tracking shipments, and accessing critical logistics information. This role ensures that our customer portals evolve into integrated, consistent, and user-centric digital experiences, reducing reliance on manual interactions and enabling scalable, self-service capabilities across regions and markets.

A key measure of success will be the ability to drive customer adoption of digital channels, increasing usage of portal-based interactions and reducing dependency on manual, email- and phone-based processes.

What you’ll do

Product Ownership & Delivery

  • Co-own and manage the product backlog for customer portal platforms, ensuring clear prioritization aligned to business and customer outcomes.
  • Drive delivery in an agile environment, working closely with engineering, design, and QA teams in your squad
  • Translate business needs into well-defined user stories and acceptance criteria.

Product Scope & Evolution

  • Own product delivery across:
    • Global Customer Portal platform
    • China-specific Customer Portal
    • Shipment event–driven tracking and communications
    • Future mobile application opportunities
  • Continuously enhance portal capabilities to support:
    • Order placement, including packaging selection
    • Customer visibility and tracking transparency
    • Event-driven notifications and communications
    • Document exchange
    • Pricing and invoicing
    • Chat-based customer support and assistance
    • Agentic AI features that help customers complete portal tasks and navigate next-best actions

Alignment & Collaboration

  • Co-own the product vision and roadmap, working closely with the Product Group Manager and working in a “two-in-a-box” model with the business Product Manager.
  • Collaborate closely with the Customer Integrations Product Owner to ensure seamless end-to-end customer experiences across the products.
  • Align with peer Product Owners and Product Group Managers to support cross-product initiatives and dependencies.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, digital experience trends, and competitor capabilities in customer portals and logistics platforms.
  • Help lead the team into AI-enabled product development by identifying practical use cases, shaping AI-informed product features, and embedding responsible, value-driven AI thinking into product delivery.
  • Small enhancements and usability improvements
  • Platform upgrades and modernization
  • Security and compliance improvements

  • Strong experience as a Product Owner in agile environments.
  • Strong understanding of digital platforms, portals, or customer-facing applications.
  • Ability to balance strategic priorities with continuous delivery and operational needs.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills across business and technology teams.
  • Experience working in globally distributed and matrixed organizations
  • Experience in a regulated environment such as healthcare logistics, is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams into AI-enabled product development, translating emerging AI capabilities into practical product opportunities and delivery approaches.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in product management, product strategy, commercialization, innovation, marketing, or a related field required.
  • 5+ years of experience in a management capacity required.

Certification in project management, customer success management, service management, agile delivery, or product implementation preferred.
