As part of our continued growth, TGS | 4C is expanding its intelligence offering into new renewable technologies, including the development of a market‑leading onshore wind intelligence service.

Role Purpose

The Product Owner - Data & Intelligence is responsible for the day-to-day ownership, development, and delivery of an assigned data or intelligence product area.

Working closely with Product, Research, Data, Engineering, Design, and Commercial teams, the role translates customer needs and business priorities into clear product requirements, manages the product backlog, supports successful product delivery, and drives continuous improvement through customer and business insights.

The role is suited to an individual who combines strong domain expertise with a desire to build capability in product management. The successful candidate will own a defined product area while contributing to the broader product portfolio and customer value proposition.

Key Accountabilities

Product Ownership & Prioritisation

  • Own and maintain the product backlog for an assigned data or intelligence product area.
  • Prioritise work in line with agreed business outcomes, roadmap objectives, and customer needs.
  • Translate validated customer problems into clear requirements, business rules, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure product decisions are supported by customer, market, and business evidence.
  • Work with subject matter experts to define requirements, quality standards, and business rules.

Product Delivery

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Data, Research, and Design teams to plan and deliver product enhancements.
  • Provide clarification and decision-making support throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Coordinate testing, acceptance, and release readiness activities.
  • Support product launches and release communications.
  • Monitor risks, dependencies, and delivery challenges, escalating where appropriate.

Customer & Product Insight

  • Participate in customer interviews, feedback sessions, and discovery activities.
  • Analyse customer feedback, usage data, and business outcomes to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Support the definition and monitoring of product quality measures.
  • Contribute to post-launch reviews and ongoing product optimisation.
  • Help ensure products remain aligned to customer needs and commercial objectives.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Develop effective working relationships across Product, Research, Data, Engineering, Commercial, and Customer teams.
  • Communicate priorities, decisions, and trade-offs clearly and professionally.
  • Support cross-functional collaboration to ensure delivery of customer value.
  • Contribute product insights and recommendations into wider portfolio discussions.

Essential

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Strong understanding of a relevant customer market, dataset, research process, commercial workflow, or product area.
  • Ability to translate complex or ambiguous issues into structured requirements and actionable outcomes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capability.
  • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Evidence-based decision-making skills and sound commercial judgement.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Desirable

  • Experience within Product, Research, Data, GIS, Commercial, Customer Success, Operations, Business Analysis, or Delivery functions.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
  • Exposure to product discovery, customer interviews, or requirements gathering.
  • Understanding of product analytics and data quality concepts.
  • Experience writing user stories, requirements, or acceptance criteria.
