About Monument Technology Limited
Monument Technology provides everything needed to build and run a bank with an open, configurable, end-to-end banking platform as a service which uses best-in-class components to empower small and medium-sized banks around the world to thrive in the digital age. Monument Technology takes the proven, end to end platform developed for Monument Bank, the leading bank for the mass affluent, and makes it available to financial institutions in the UK and globally as a licensed Banking Platform as a Service.
Our platform is a full-stack ‘bank or building-society-in-a-box’, delivering all the functionality needed to run and grow a modern, digital-led financial institution, including native mobile app and web experience, servicing, core and all the back-end technologies, integrated in a single, cloud-native solution (“Bank-in-a-Box”).
Monument Technology provides everything in one solution, taking care of all third-party contracts and integrations as well as ongoing maintenance and future platform enhancements - all for one annual licence fee, allowing our customers to embrace the most modern technology available, without any of the complexity.
THE ROLE
We’re looking for a design-led Product Owner to own the design system and user experience for our App and Web products end to end, from concept and user research through to a build-ready, developer-friendly handoff.
This is a high-impact individual contributor role with significant creative ownership and real influence over how Monument Technology’s products look, feel and function from day one. You’ll act as the bridge between design intent and engineering reality: systemising, translating and validating so that every design can be picked up by developers without ambiguity.
You do not need to be a front-end developer; the engineering teams are there to build. This role is there to design, systemise and translate. Day to day you’ll work closely with Product Owners, front-end developers and the wider product team, with an occasional requirement to support broader Monument Technology branding and template consistency outside the core product.
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Own the design system and user experience for App and Web end to end, from concept and user research through to a build-ready, developer-friendly handoff.
- Manage the full design system – component libraries, tokens, patterns, documentation and version control – keeping it a living, versioned product rather than a static file.
- Translate design intent into clear, unambiguous requirements that developers can build from without back-and-forth, acting as the trusted bridge between design and engineering.
- Run user testing and concept testing, and validate prototypes before engineering time is committed, ensuring feedback loops actually change what gets built.
- Apply meticulous attention to detail, catching small inconsistencies in padding, spacing, alignment and component states before they reach engineering.
- Present original ideas and creative concepts to stakeholders with confidence, explaining and defending design decisions with clear reasoning.
- Take direct ownership of the design backlog and integrate fully into sprint planning, resolving ambiguity for developers rather than leaving them to guess.
- Deliver a design system audit, an established version control process, and component documentation for the areas in scope, driving a measurable reduction in design-related rework during development.
- Support broader Monument Technology branding and template consistency on an occasional basis, outside the core product.
WE LOOK FOR PEOPLE WITH
- A minimum of 2 years’ proven experience as a Product Owner, UX/Product Designer or Design Lead for a customer-facing App and/or Web product is essential, with strong hands-on expertise in Figma or an equivalent design tool.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a full design system – components, tokens, documentation and version control – so designs translate cleanly and consistently into development requirements.
- Meticulous attention to detail, able to identify small inconsistencies in padding, spacing, alignment and component states before they reach engineering.
- A track record of running user testing and concept testing and validating prototypes before engineering time is committed.
- Confidence presenting original ideas and creative concepts to stakeholders, and comfort explaining and defending design decisions, including to senior stakeholders.
- Expert, daily use of Figma (component libraries, variables, auto-layout, prototyping) and comfort managing design system version control and documentation.
- Experience in financial services or another regulated industry is desirable, as is awareness of how FCA and PRA regulation shapes UX and design decisions.
- Familiarity with the wider design tooling ecosystem (Figma variables/libraries, Storybook or similar), a background in visual or brand design, or a formal UX/UI qualification are all desirable.
- The character the role needs: confident putting new ideas in front of a room, able to take feedback without taking it personally, a genuine team player, and flexible by nature in a fast-moving fintech environment.
