Contract until End of Year
Are you a data-driven Product Owner with a passion for analytics, engineering effectiveness and driving meaningful business decisions?
We're supporting a leading UK financial services organisation in the search for an experienced Product Owner to lead the evolution of engineering productivity and insight capabilities across a large-scale technology function. This is a highly visible role, working with senior technology leaders to shape how engineering performance, developer experience and AI adoption are measured, reported and improved across global teams.
About the Role
As Product Owner, you'll be responsible for driving the strategy, development and adoption of data products and insight platforms that provide meaningful visibility into engineering productivity, team performance and developer experience. You'll work closely with engineering teams across the UK and India, leveraging both quantitative and qualitative data to generate actionable insights that influence technology strategy and investment decisions.
A key focus of the role will be leading the evaluation and implementation of a new third-party engineering productivity platform, helping the business understand the impact of AI and emerging technologies on engineering efficiency, performance and cost. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys combining product leadership, analytics, stakeholder management and strategic thinking in a complex enterprise environment.

- Build compelling business cases to support technology investment decisions.
- Evaluate and implement third-party engineering productivity and intelligence platforms.
- Measure and report on developer productivity, engineering effectiveness and team sentiment.
- Analyse the impact of AI and emerging technologies on engineering performance and organisational outcomes.
- Create executive-level dashboards, reporting and insight packs.
- Work closely with engineering leaders, Product Owners, delivery teams and external vendors.
- Lead remote and cross-functional stakeholder groups across multiple locations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
