Product Owner / Technical Product Lead – API Platform

Location: Edinburgh, UK

Working Model: Hybrid

Work Type: Contract – Inside IR35

Rate: £385–£400 per day

We are looking for a Product Owner / Technical Product Lead to join a technology team working on API platforms and digital services. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working between business and technology and can turn business needs into clear priorities for developers, architects and engineering teams. You don't need to be a developer. We are looking for someone who is technically comfortable, commercially aware and confident working with different stakeholders.

What You'll Do

  • Own and prioritise the product backlog.
  • Work with business teams to understand their needs and turn them into clear requirements.
  • Write user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Work closely with developers, architects, DevOps, UX and security teams.
  • Help shape and improve API platforms and digital services.
  • Support API onboarding, reuse and developer experience.
  • Prioritise features based on business value, customer needs, risk and technical feasibility.
  • Support Agile ceremonies such as backlog refinement, sprint planning and reviews.
  • Manage stakeholders and clearly communicate product priorities and decisions.
  • Help ensure the team delivers valuable, high-quality solutions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
