Financial Crime Systems Product Owner

This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of Financial Crime technology at Yorkshire Building Society.

As Financial Crime Systems Product Owner, you will take ownership of the Society's Financial Crime systems landscape, ensuring our technology continues to evolve to meet regulatory expectations, operational needs, and emerging financial crime threats.

In the short term, you will play a key role in maximising the value of our existing Financial Crime platforms, working closely with internal stakeholders and technology suppliers to ensure we fully utilise system capabilities and deliver against our transformation objectives.

Over time, you will become the strategic owner of the Financial Crime technology roadmap, driving future enhancements, influencing supplier development plans, identifying opportunities for innovation, and ensuring our systems continue to support the Society's long-term ambitions.

This role requires someone who can operate strategically whilst remaining close to delivery. You will work across Financial Crime, Operations, Change, Technology, Risk, Compliance, and third-party suppliers to ensure business requirements are understood, prioritised, and translated into effective solutions.

You will also play a critical role in assessing the impact of wider organisational and technology change on Financial Crime systems and controls, ensuring risks, dependencies, operational impacts, and opportunities are identified early and managed effectively.

This is an exciting opportunity for a self-driven individual who can challenge constructively, influence stakeholders at all levels, and establish effective ways of working that support successful and sustainable delivery.

What you'll be doing

Technology & Product Ownership

  • Own and maintain the Financial Crime systems roadmap, ensuring priorities align with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and strategic goals.
  • Act as Product Owner for Financial Crime platforms, managing product backlogs, priorities, and delivery outcomes.
  • Define and communicate a clear vision for the future development of Financial Crime technology within YBS.

System Optimisation & Innovation

  • Maximise the value delivered through Financial Crime systems by identifying opportunities to improve effectiveness, efficiency, and user experience.
  • Work with internal teams and suppliers to understand emerging capabilities and determine how new functionality can be leveraged across the Society.
  • Continuously review system performance, utilisation, and effectiveness to drive ongoing improvement.

Supplier & Vendor Management

  • Develop strong relationships with technology suppliers and strategic partners.
  • Influence supplier roadmaps and challenge vendors to maximise the value delivered to YBS.
  • Ensure YBS fully capitalises on system capabilities, future developments, and industry innovation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
