General Information

  • Employment Type: Permanent
  • Previous working experience: 5+ years in an Agile delivery role, as Product Owner, Scrum Master or similar
  • Working hours: 40hrs/week
  • Working Location: Remote EU / Berlin
  • Reports to: Director of Product
  • Desired start date: As soon as possible

Your Challenge at Wire

As Product Owner, you will own the backlog and the day-to-day running of delivery for one of Wire’s product scopes, and act as its key communicator, in partnership with the Product Manager. You will work in close tandem with your Product Manager, who owns the scope’s vision, strategy and external representation, so that you can turn their direction into a well-ordered backlog and a smoothly run set of rituals.

  • Own and prioritise the backlog, decide what enters each sprint, and define what “ready to build” and “done” mean for your scope.
  • Write and maintain epics, user stories and acceptance criteria in Jira, and manage the link between the product roadmap and the delivery items that realise it.
  • Lead the scope’s rituals: refinement, sprint planning, demos and retrospectives, keeping the team unblocked and delivery status visible.
  • Protect the agreed sprint scope from unplanned change, and coordinate dependencies across scopes and disciplines.
  • Decide, together with your Product Manager, whether to ship with a non-critical bug or fix it first, and require clear problem statements and priorities from them in return.
  • Organise the logistics of cross-scope moments such as quarterly ideation, supporting your Product Manager in bringing strategy and vision to the room.
  • Run delivery as a force multiplier: use AI tooling to automate the mechanical parts of the role (drafting and grooming backlog items, generating status and release notes, surfacing burndown and blocker signals,...) so your time goes to judgment, not busywork.
  • Own the scope's agile and product culture: coach the team on ways of working, refinement quality and healthy rituals, and continuously improve how the team plans, estimates and ships rather than merely administering the process.
  • Act as Scrum Master for the scope: facilitate refinement, sprint planning, demos and retrospectives, protect the team's focus and keep delivery legible drawing the team into problem-solving rather than presenting decisions to them.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Your Profile

  • Solid experience owning a backlog and running Agile delivery rituals for a cross-functional team, as a Product Owner, Scrum Master or similar.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail: you can turn ambiguous priorities into clear, well-written epics, user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Confidence facilitating refinement, sprint planning, demos and retrospectives, and keeping a team’s delivery status visible and legible to everyone around it.
  • Good judgement on trade-offs, able to decide with a Product Manager whether to ship with a known issue or fix it first.
  • Ideally, hands-on fluency with Jira, including Jira Product Discovery, and comfort coordinating dependencies across teams and disciplines.
  • Enough technical fluency to work closely with developers, tech leads, designers and QA, and to protect a sprint’s scope with credibility, will help you hit the ground running.
  • Hands-on with AI tools in a delivery context (e.g. AI-assisted ticket writing, summarisation, reporting), and genuine curiosity to push how far tooling can automate the operational layer of the role.
  • A coaching mindset: you strengthen a team's agile and product maturity and help it self-organise, instead of being a process gatekeeper.
  • Experience moving from a Scrum Master role into Product Ownership is a plus.
