Product Owner – Technology & Customer Experience

Denholm Associates are working exclusively with an exciting, technology-led business that is playing an important role in the transition towards a more sustainable and flexible future. Following a period of significant growth and investment, our client is evolving the way it approaches product development and is looking for an experienced Product Owner to join its Product team.
This is a genuinely interesting opportunity for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of technology, customers, operations, and commercial performance.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Product Director, you'll take ownership of two important product areas, helping to shape the roadmap, prioritize development, and ensure technology delivers tangible value for both customers and the wider business.
You'll work across Engineering, IT, Data, Commercial, and Operations, translating complex business and technical requirements into clear product outcomes and helping delivery teams turn those priorities into reality.
You'll be involved across the full product lifecycle, from understanding customer and business needs through to prioritisation, delivery, implementation, and continuous improvement.

- Owning product roadmaps, backlogs, and delivery priorities.
- Working with senior stakeholders to understand business, customer, and operational requirements.
- Translating complex requirements into clear product outcomes, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Working closely with Engineering and technical teams to deliver new capabilities and improvements.
- Balancing customer needs, commercial priorities, operational efficiency, and technical considerations.
- Supporting an effective Agile delivery cadence, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Identifying opportunities to simplify, automate, and improve existing processes.
- Supporting the development of scalable products and services as the business continues to grow.
- Providing clear visibility of delivery progress, risks, priorities, and outcomes.
- Helping embed and continuously improve product management and delivery practices across the organisation.
What We're Looking For
We're keen to speak with Product Owners, Technical Product Managers, Delivery Managers, or Project Managers who have experience operating in a complex, technical, and ideally regulated environment.
You'll bring:
- At least 3 years' experience within the energy sector or a similarly regulated/complex industry.
- Demonstrable experience in Product Ownership, product delivery, or a related role.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- The ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Broad technical awareness and experience working closely with engineering or technology teams.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
- A commercially minded approach to product decision-making.
- Experience working with Agile, Scrum, PRINCE2, or similar delivery methodologies.
