Product Owner – Customer Experience
About the role
We're looking for an experienced Product Owner to help shape and deliver digital products that improve experiences for customers and colleagues across Royal Mail.
Working within a cross-functional product team, you'll play a key role in defining priorities, translating business needs into actionable requirements and ensuring valuable products are delivered at pace. You'll work closely with stakeholders across the business, alongside designers, engineers, architects and delivery teams, to solve real customer problems and deliver measurable outcomes.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who combines strong product thinking with a customer-first mindset and enjoys turning ideas into successful products and services.
What You'll Be Doing
- Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring priorities align to customer needs, business goals and strategic objectives.
- Work closely with customers, users and stakeholders to identify opportunities, understand pain points and validate solutions.
- Translate product goals and business requirements into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Prioritise work based on customer value, business impact, risk and delivery considerations.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers and architects throughout the product lifecycle.
- Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning and product reviews to ensure teams remain focused on delivering value.
- Provide guidance and decision-making support to the delivery team throughout development.
- Review and accept completed work, ensuring it meets agreed business requirements and quality standards.
- Use customer feedback, analytics and performance data to drive continuous improvement.
- Contribute to product strategy, roadmap planning and long-term product development initiatives.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
