Are you a product owner who is looking for their next job opportunity?

Recruit with Purpose are supporting a leading social housing provider who are bringing in a Product Owner on an outside IR35 basis to take ownership of their small change function.

This is a genuine backlog ownership role rather than a roadmap or commercial product position. You'll sit between the business and the delivery teams, own the intake and prioritisation of small change demand, and make sure the right work properly defined reaches the delivery teams.

The role:

You'll own and prioritise the product and sprint backlogs, balancing business value, operational and regulatory risk, urgency, dependencies and delivery capacity.

Day to day that means:

  • Triaging incoming requests against agreed small change criteria clarifying the problem, the outcome, the value and who owns it and redirecting anything that belongs in a project, a service request or another route
  • Running discovery: current-state process analysis, pain points, business rules, data, risks and dependencies
  • Translating business need into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps and proportionate requirements
  • Defining the minimum viable change, challenging low-value asks and holding scope so small change stays small
  • Supporting refinement, estimation and sprint planning with cross-functional delivery teams
  • Coordinating UAT securing a named business owner, proper evidence and explicit acceptance

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
