Product Owner – Investment Management
Location: London
Employment Type: Hybrid
Contract: Inside IR35
We are working with a leading investment manager looking to hire an experienced Product Owner to help shape and evolve the capabilities used by its investment teams.
This is a senior product role working closely with investment professionals and technology teams to identify opportunities, lead discovery and shape solutions that improve how investment teams research, construct and manage portfolios.
The role has a strong focus on understanding business problems, defining desired outcomes and determining how technology can best support evolving investment workflows.
The Role
- Lead discovery with Portfolio Managers, Analysts, Quants and other investment stakeholders.
- Identify and shape opportunities across investment research, portfolio construction, analytics and related workflows.
- Define product vision, priorities and roadmaps aligned to broader business objectives.
- Take initially ambiguous ideas and problems through discovery into clearly defined initiatives.
- Explore opportunities to use AI and emerging technology to improve investment processes and decision-making.
- Prioritise initiatives based on business value, user needs and strategic priorities.
- Work closely with Engineering and Architecture to ensure solutions are both valuable to users and aligned with technology strategy.
- Maintain ownership from early discovery through to delivery, working with cross-functional technology teams.
- Build strong relationships across investment, product and technology functions.

What We're Looking For

- Experience: Product Owner, Product Manager or similar experience within asset or investment management.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of front-office investment workflows and the needs of investment professionals.
- Experience owning or shaping internal platforms, tools or capabilities used by investment teams.
- Strong product discovery skills, with evidence of taking ambiguous problems through to defined solutions and outcomes.
- Experience defining product roadmaps and prioritising competing opportunities.
- Attributes:
- Comfortable working closely with engineering and other technical teams.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, particularly with senior business users.
- Exposure to investment research, portfolio construction, portfolio management, risk/analytics or related areas would be highly relevant.
- An interest in the application of AI within investment management would be beneficial.
