We’re excited to be working with an established global organisation that is investing in the products and technology behind its next stage of growth. They’re looking for a Product Owner in Glasgow who wants to solve complex problems, work with talented teams and have a real say in what gets built.
About the role
This is a Product Owner role at the intersection of product, data and technology. You’ll take broad business and customer needs, work out what matters most, and turn them into clear priorities for engineering teams to deliver. Your work will help users discover, understand and access data more easily, while improving the quality and consistency of the information behind the platform.
What you’ll be doing
- Own and prioritise the product backlog, making clear decisions about what should be delivered and why.
- Work with Product Managers and engineers to shape upcoming work, sequence features and manage dependencies.
- Turn complex business and technical requirements into epics, user stories, acceptance criteria and process flows.
- Lead backlog refinement, contribute to sprint planning and reviews, and support user acceptance testing.
- Speak with teams across product, engineering, data, research and commercial functions to understand their workflows and solve practical problems.
- Define improvements to how data is described, searched, accessed, connected and reused across systems.
- Help shape requirements around data quality, metadata, identifiers and the way records are matched and managed.
- Use SQL or similar tools to investigate datasets, check assumptions and support product decisions.
- Gather feedback, assess how delivered features perform and use those insights to guide the next improvements.
- Explore prototypes, including those built with AI tools, to make ideas tangible and get quicker feedback.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- An understanding of data products and the challenges involved in keeping data accurate, accessible and useful across multiple systems.
- Familiarity with APIs, data models or integrations, and the ability to discuss requirements with technical colleagues.
- Confidence using SQL or another analytical tool to explore data and validate requirements.
- Strong communication skills and the judgement to bring different stakeholders towards a clear decision.
- Experience with financial data, data platforms or analytics products would be especially useful. We’d also be interested in hearing from people who have used prototypes or AI tools to explore product ideas.
