The Role
Purpose:
Work in partnership with the Head of Product Proposition, to manage and execute Unum’s Product Roadmap supporting key strategic pillars and metrics to drive growth and value.
What will you be doing?
- Support and maintain the product roadmap across group risk, healthcare and individual protection portfolios.
- Develop product proposals and robust business cases, presenting recommendations to senior stakeholders and governance committees.
- Manage product lifecycle activity, including product reviews, fair value assessments, enhancements and supporting documentation.
- Use market insight, competitor analysis and data to shape product design, positioning and customer outcomes.
- Build strong relationships across leadership, operations, distribution, finance, legal and compliance to secure buy-in and deliver change.
- Support broker and client conversations, RFP responses, pitch presentations and relevant industry forums.
- Help deliver profitable growth, retention and improved customer journeys, including opportunities to digitise processes.
- Contribute to effective product governance and regulatory requirements, including Consumer Duty and the Risk Management Framework.

What will you bring?
- Strong, demonstrable experience in the health and protection insurance industry, including workplace benefits.
- A sound technical understanding of health and protection arrangements; experience with multinational pooled, captive or retained-risk arrangements would be an advantage.
- Experience designing, implementing and presenting customer-focused product initiatives.
- Strong commercial judgement, with experience supporting SMEs and large employers and using data to inform decisions.
- A results-focused approach, with the ability to solve problems, drive change and turn ideas into action.
- Excellent relationship-building and influencing skills, including confidence working with senior and C-suite stakeholders.
- A relevant degree or professional qualification, or equivalent practical experience.

This role will be hybrid, based in Dorking 1 day a week and London 2 days a week.
