Who are we looking for?
We have an opportunity for a Product Quality Engineer to join us at our manufacturing site in Wantage, Oxfordshire. The Product Quality Engineer will support and continuously improve product and process quality across the business by leading and facilitating customer complaint investigations, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and quality reporting activities. The role is responsible for driving effective resolution of quality issues, supporting cross-functional quality improvement projects, and ensuring compliance with quality management system requirements and customer expectations.

What will you be doing?
- Working closely with Manufacturing, Technical, R&D, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams, the Quality Engineer will use data-driven analysis and structured problem-solving methodologies to identify improvement opportunities, reduce quality risks, and enhance customer satisfaction.
- The position also provides support for wider site quality activities including internal audits, non-conformance management, supplier quality issues, continuous improvement initiatives, quality metrics reporting, and the promotion of a strong quality culture throughout the organisation.
Customer Complaints & Corrective Actions
- Lead customer complaint investigations, identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Facilitate structured problem-solving using tools such as 8D, 5 Why, and Fishbone analysis.
- Monitor complaint and non-conformance trends to identify and prevent recurring issues.
- Prepare technical reports, customer responses, and corrective action documentation.
- Represent the Voice of the Customer in investigations and improvement activities.
Quality Improvement & Process Excellence
- Lead and support projects to improve product quality, process capability, and customer satisfaction.
- Analyse quality data and KPIs to identify risks, trends, and improvement opportunities.
- Implement preventive measures to reduce defects and improve process robustness.
- Apply quality engineering tools and continuous improvement methodologies to drive sustainable improvements.
- Promote quality best practices and a culture of continuous improvement.
Non-Conformance & Risk Management
- Support the investigation, containment, and resolution of non-conformances.
- Conduct risk assessments and support activities such as PFMEA, control plans, and change management.
- Ensure quality risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated effectively.
Quality Systems & Compliance
- Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Ensure compliance with quality procedures, standards, customer requirements, and regulatory expectations.
- Participate in internal, customer, and certification audits and support the timely closure of findings.

Data Analysis & Reporting
- Develop and maintain quality metrics, dashboards, and reports.
- Use data analysis to drive decision-making, improve processes, and measure performance.
- Communicate quality trends, risks, and improvement recommendations to stakeholders.
Manufacturing & Operational Support
- Partner with manufacturing teams to improve process performance and product quality.
- Support production trials, process validations, new product introductions, and process changes.
- Assist with supplier quality investigations and improvement activities as required.
Quality Leadership & Collaboration
- Work collaboratively across functions to achieve quality objectives and business goals.
- Provide guidance on quality tools, problem-solving, and quality system requirements.
- Support site quality initiatives and continuous improvement programmes.
Who are You?
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, industrial, or related field).
- Experience in product quality, manufacturing engineering, or reliability engineering.
- Strong understanding of quality tools and methodologies (e.g., 8D, FMEA, PPAP, DOE).
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements relevant to the product line.
- Proficiency with data analysis tools and statistical methods.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
