The Role

This role is focused on product quality across the TechPoint group. This person will be responsible for implementing best in class quality processes, to exceed customer expectations for product quality, cost and delivery, optimising production quality levels and supporting operational excellence. This person will work closely with internal and external key stakeholders, manufacturing and customers regarding technical support of their activities. Lead and develop the Quality Management system, striving for best in class products and business practices to deliver to the customer’s expectations, managing teams and projects across the business. Provide clear leadership and vision, inspire and motivate staff to achieve excellence and mentor them as they develop new skills. Monitor and report Key Performance Indicators across all areas of the business to ensure that all projects are delivered on cost and on time to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all aspects of product quality, ensuring adherence to the highest standards across the business through all stages of product lifecycle – NPI to Aftermarket.
  • Manage and mentor the product quality team. Ensure day to day management and development of functional strength through people development and training.
  • Support the Group Head of Quality, to ensure ISO9001 and AS9100 accreditation across group and future accreditations as defined by business strategy are achieved.
  • Ensure that product quality processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality and delivery targets and which enables the company to function and compete effectively in the market and in a sustained manner.
  • Actively lead the reduction of Customer PPMs (Parts Per Million), Warranty, Cost of Quality and in-house scrap and waste.
  • Implement new quality processes and systems where appropriate.
  • Work to prevent non-conformances, customer complaints, concession and rework alongside Manufacturing/ Engineering and Operations to develop corrective and preventative actions within required time-frame.
  • Develop and optimise the Quality Management System, updating procedures and train team members where required.
  • Conduct regular audits of processes against the internal management system, providing comprehensive reports on findings and recommendations for improvement.
  • Report on quality activities ensuring accurate and timely reporting of the relevant Key Performance Indicators.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for correspondence with end customers and suppliers, both domestically and internationally, ensuring clear and professional communication.
  • Develop and deliver training programs focused on quality management to enhance team capabilities and foster a culture of excellence.

About You

  • Previous experience in quality focused roles.
  • Results orientated with ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines.
  • Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to optimise team performance and development.
  • Experience with ISO9001 and AS9100 regulatory codes.
  • Proficient auditing experience.
  • Engineering background, ideally Electronics Manufacturing, specifically working in quality roles.
  • Excellent report writing skills, demonstrating clarity and consistency throughout.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to efficiently meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
  • Full Clean UK Driving Licence with ability to travel to TechPoint Group sites when required.
