Product Research & Development Co-Ordinator / Trainee Co-Ordinator
📍 Blackpool, Lancashire | 💰 Competitive Salary | 🕘 Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm | Permanent
I'm working with an established and innovative business within the environmental and safety products sector, who are looking to add a Product Research & Development Co-Ordinator / Trainee Co-Ordinator to their R&D team.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys research, developing ideas, understanding customers and taking projects from an initial concept through to launch.
You'll play a key role in supporting the development of new products, working across the business to turn customer and market insight into commercially viable product ideas.
Responsibilities
- Conducting market and competitor research to identify customer needs, market gaps and opportunities
- Generating and evaluating new product ideas
- Keeping up to date with industry trends, innovations and commercial opportunities
- Engaging directly with customers to understand their needs and develop product concepts
- Organising and attending face-to-face customer research meetings
- Preparing detailed design briefs for the Product Design team
- Project managing new product development projects, ensuring key milestones are delivered
- Working closely with Product Design, Engineering, Marketing, Sales and Operations
- Preparing and delivering presentations to internal stakeholders
- Coordinating activities around new product launches
- Supporting the ongoing review and development of the existing product portfolio
- Travelling for business when required

Requirements
They're looking for someone who is:
- Creative and able to generate new ideas
- Analytical with strong research and problem-solving skills
- Commercially aware and customer-focused
- A strong communicator, both written and verbally
- Highly organised with good project management skills
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities
- Proactive, self-motivated and detail-oriented
- Confident using Microsoft Office or equivalent
- Happy to travel when required

Previous experience in Product Development, R&D, Marketing or Project Management would be beneficial, alongside experience in customer research, market analysis or working cross-functionally.
A 2:1 degree in Product Design, Marketing or a related subject is required.
