Product Segment Leader - Modular Test
Location: Leeds (Hybrid, 3 days on site)
Are you a commercially driven product professional looking to take ownership of a strategically important technology portfolio?
At Farnell, we're seeking an experienced Product Segment Leader - Modular Test to drive the performance and growth of our Modular Test product segment. This is an opportunity to take ownership of product strategy, supplier relationships, portfolio development, pricing, inventory management and commercial performance within a global electronics distribution business.
You'll join an experienced and supportive team, working alongside a highly respected Test & Measurement Manager who has been with Farnell for over 25 years. Their extensive industry knowledge and guidance will provide an excellent platform for your continued development while giving you the autonomy to make a genuine impact.
The role will be working across EMEA and APAC.

You’ll be part of a winning global team in a hybrid role, with flexibility to work from home and the office. Some travel may be required, and occasionally you’ll work outside standard UK hours to collaborate with global suppliers.
You will be given the opportunity to own and shape a strategically important product segment and have exposure to leading manufacturers and suppliers.
What will you be doing?
As the Product Segment Leader for Modular Test, you'll have end-to-end responsibility for the strategic and commercial management of your product segment, ensuring delivery of sales, margin, asset management and market share objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and executing the product segment strategy to achieve sales, margin, inventory and market share targets
- Managing the product portfolio throughout its lifecycle, including new technology introductions, range expansion and end-of-life planning
- Building and developing strategic supplier relationships to drive business growth and maximise commercial opportunities
- Leading supplier business reviews and implementing joint business development plans
- Negotiating and managing commercial and contractual supplier agreements
- Taking ownership of product pricing strategies to support both growth and profitability objectives
- Managing inventory performance, including stock investment, turns, line fill and excess stock reduction
- Partnering with Sales, Marketing, eCommerce and Operations teams to ensure successful execution of product strategies and campaigns
- Providing market intelligence and insight on technology trends, supplier performance and customer demand
- Supporting sales enablement activities through product training and strategy communication
- Maintaining product data and ensuring products remain optimally positioned for commercial success
- Resolving customer and supplier issues by working effectively with stakeholders across multiple regions and time zones
- Supporting marketing activity through collaboration with suppliers and commercial marketing teams

What about you?
We're looking for an experienced Product Segment Leader and someone who combines strong commercial acumen with excellent relationship-building skills and a passion for driving business performance.
You'll ideally bring:
- Experience in product management, category management, supplier management or a similar commercially focused role
- Experience within electronics, technology, industrial distribution, engineering or manufacturing environments.
- Proven experience delivering sales growth, margin improvement and business performance objectives
- Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills
- Experience developing and executing strategic business plans
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Strong commercial awareness, including pricing, profitability and inventory management
- The ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders across multiple functions and levels
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- The ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
