Product Specialist, Structured Products
Location: London
Octavius Finance has partnered with an established global asset manager to appoint a Product Specialist into its growing European investment business. This is a technical, investment focused role sitting between product, investments and client engagement. The successful candidate will develop detailed expertise across a range of structured and derivatives based investment strategies and support the communication, positioning and development of those products with institutional and intermediary clients.
The firm is looking for someone with a strong understanding of structured products, derivatives or quantitative investment strategies, combined with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
This is not a portfolio management position and there is no requirement to take direct responsibility for sales targets.

- Develop detailed technical knowledge across the firm's investment strategies and product range.
- Analyse investment structures, portfolio characteristics, risk exposures and return profiles.
- Produce product commentary, presentations, thought leadership and educational materials.
- Support senior colleagues in client meetings and technical investment discussions.
- Work closely with investment teams on product positioning, development and new launches.
- Act as a technical point of contact for internal teams and professional investors.
- Take on increasing presentation and client facing responsibility as experience develops.
- Travel periodically across European and international markets.
Candidate Requirements:
- Relevant experience across asset management, investment banking, structured products, derivatives, quantitative strategies or investment solutions.
- Experience within product analysis, structuring, quantitative research, investment research or technical product support would be particularly relevant.
- Strong understanding of financial markets, investment products and risk.
- Good knowledge of derivatives and structured investments would be advantageous.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable explaining technical investment concepts to a variety of audiences.
- An interest in developing broader product expertise and increasing client exposure.
- Additional European languages would be advantageous.

The firm is open to candidates from both the buy side and sell side and can consider a range of experience levels. Technical capability, communication skills and long term potential are more important than an established sales or portfolio management background.
