Role Description
The Product Specialist role is a full-time, on-site position based at the Northampton Volvo dealership. This role focuses on providing detailed product knowledge and guidance to customers interested in Volvo and Kia vehicles, supporting them throughout their buying journey. Day-to-day tasks include welcoming customers, understanding their needs, presenting suitable vehicle options, conducting product demonstrations and test drives, and explaining key features, benefits, and technologies.

The Product Specialist collaborates closely with the sales team to ensure a seamless, customer-centric experience, assists with vehicle configuration and specification, and supports follow-up activities to maintain strong customer relationships. The role also involves maintaining site standards from an audit point of view, and ensuring all vehicles are images and advertisements are at the highest quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Vehicle Handovers & Technical Guidance: Deliver tailored vehicle handovers to customers, guiding them through technology setups (e.g., Volvo Cars App, Google built-in infotainment, dynamic safety features, and EV charging). Act as the primary point of contact in the showroom for complex technical customer inquiries.
- Digital Inventory & Photography: Maintain accurate, high-quality digital listings by routinely photographing new and used vehicle stock. Ensure all online imagery reflects current inventory accurately and meets brand standards.
- Showroom & Display Maintenance: Maintain impeccably organized, tidy, and premium display standards across the internal showroom floor and the external used car display areas.
- Sales Team Support: Collaborate with sales colleagues by preparing vehicles for test drives, assisting during peak customer footfall, and explaining features to prospective buyers.
- Brand Experience: Represent Volvo's brand values—focusing on safety, sustainability, and Scandinavian design—throughout every customer interaction.

Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong product specialist skills, with the ability to understand and clearly explain Volvo features, specifications, and technologies.
- Candidates should possess a sharp attention to detail, specifically regarding vehicle presentation and photography.
- Candidates should possess analytical skills, including the ability to assess customer needs, compare vehicle options, and interpret basic performance and pricing information.
- Candidates should possess excellent communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication and confident presentation abilities.
- Hold a valid UK driving licence.
- The ability to work collaboratively within a dealership team, a strong attention to detail, and a proactive attitude toward learning new products and technologies are highly valued.
