Position Summary
The Product Specialist engages customers and inspires them to see what's possible using Hippotizer media server technology. This person will build quality relationships with customers and end users, providing best-in-class support, technical project consultation, and training. The role plays a pivotal role in helping to optimize our product experience, closely collaborating with the internal Product team and Technical Services department to technically support and communicate with high-profile projects.
This role aims to provide support to the internal sales team by facilitating in-house training, off-site trainings, and provide support in scope, planning, and strategizing ACT’s complex Video sales projects. This person will be required to have strong self-management, technical depth, and strong communication skills. The ability to shift engineering work during non-travel periods provides for flexibility in daily tasks.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Generate future opportunities by discovering the deeper needs of our customers to build lasting relationships.
- Drive a positive customer experience by providing technological solutions to customer project requirements.
- Provides first and second line technical support using both our web-based support help desk and telecommunications services.
- Assist the Product Support Technicians, Engineers, and Developers in diagnosing and fixing complex problems.
- Work with and provide consultation to Sales and Technical departments for high profile projects.
- Deliver technical pre-sales assistance, system design support, and configuration guidance to regional sales managers and dealer partners.
- Provide key project support – on-site commissioning, programming, and troubleshooting – for strategic customers and flagship installations.
- Oversee pre-sales product inquiries and partner with Sales to produce accurate system configurations and quotes.
- Proactively engage with key customers and identify insights and opportunities.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of the customer journey, experience, and opportunities.
- Act as a brand champion and communicates our company culture.
- Participates in wider company collaboration with cross-functional departments to deliver extensive product-led directives (Including product, R&D, sales, and marketing teams)
- Other duties as required by management.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:
- Completion of a program at a community college, technical or commercial school or equivalent experience (minimum of a 2-year program).
- Minimum 3 years of pro AV experience required. (Live events, corporate, television or integrations).
- Working knowledge of lighting consoles, automated lighting systems, and DMX/sACN control protocols, the broader ecosystem that Hippotizer integrates into.
- Knowledgeable of computer systems, video processing, and pro AV products.
- Proficiency with common software tools, including the MS Office suite.
- Evidenced experience in providing technical support or customer service.
- Ability to credibly train both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot basic technical issues.
- Work as a member of a team in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

- The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25kg
