Key purpose of role:
The Product Specialist is accountable for delivering trusted product expertise and supply-chain insight that strengthens decision-making, product positioning, customer outcomes and mutually beneficial partnerships.
The Product Specialist provides proactive product, market and supply-chain expertise to support timely, accurate and trusted customer engagements. Working cross-functionally and with external partners, the role strengthens product positioning and commercial understanding while ensuring opportunities and cases are managed proactively from initial request through to resolution.
Key duties and responsibilities:
Supply chain management
- Manage supplier and distributor relationships to secure competitive pricing, product availability and timely responses.
- Identify opportunities to improve margin, commercial terms and operational efficiency across the supply chain.
- Grow and maintain effective and profitable supply chain partnerships, aligning the goals and needs of all parties.
Product positioning
- Provide accurate, specialist product advice to help sales teams recommend solutions aligned with customer requirements.
- Support the creation of quotes and proposals by validating product selection, compatibility and availability.
- Promote strategic products, services and vendor propositions that support revenue, margin and growth objectives.
- Deliver clear product recommendations that communicate features, benefits and differentiators.
- Create relevant internal product codes to support the timely quoting and tracking of portfolio opportunities and performance.
Market understanding
- Maintain current knowledge of product roadmaps, emerging technologies, market trends and competitor activity.
- Translate supply chain intelligence into actionable guidance for sales and commercial teams.
- Identify changes in pricing, availability or customer demand that may create commercial opportunities or risks.
- Share regular market insight to strengthen internal knowledge and customer engagement.

Stakeholder engagement
- Build effective internal relationships across Purchasing, Order Management, Pre-Sales and Finance, drawing on their expertise to deliver coordinated and positive outcomes.
- Build and maintain effective external supply-chain partnerships across key areas of the portfolio, complementing internal expertise and increasing the value delivered across the wider Jigsaw24 organisation.
Case management
- Take ownership of assigned product and opportunity caseloads, managing cases in an organised and responsive manner within agreed SLAs.
- Provide proactive progress updates, escalate blockers appropriately and identify recurring challenges requiring process improvement.

- Strong product and technical aptitude - able to quickly understand product specifications, compatibility, roadmaps and customer needs.
- Commercially astute - with the ability to identify opportunities to improve margin, supplier terms, revenue and operational efficiency.
- Clear and influential communicator - capable of translating product and supply chain information into practical recommendations for sales teams and customers.
- Relationship focused - with the credibility to build productive, mutually beneficial partnerships with supply chain and internal stakeholders.
- Market awareness - able to interpret pricing, availability, competitor activity and customer demand to identify commercial opportunity and risk.
- Proactive and accountable - taking ownership of requirements and cases from initial request through to a timely and satisfactory resolution.
- Growth mindset - always seeking to enhance commercial performance, supplier value and internal capability.
