We are currently looking for a Product Stewardship & Regulatory Senior Specialist, EMEA to join us at one of our facilities in the UK: Welwyn Garden City, Darlington or Wellingborough.
Role Overview
The Product Stewardship and Regulatory Senior Specialist, EMEA is a leader within a team responsible for regulatory compliance and product stewardship activities for paints, coatings, and raw materials across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Depending on organizational needs, the role may focus on regulatory compliance, including managing product registrations, regulatory reporting, and compliance programs, or on product and raw material support through hazard communications, regulatory evaluations, SDS management, and customer compliance activities. The supervisor works closely with R&D, procurement, manufacturing, supply chain, and commercial teams to ensure regulatory requirements are effectively integrated into business processes and product development initiatives. This position provides technical leadership, drives continuous improvement, and supports the company's commitment to product safety, regulatory excellence, and successful market access throughout the EMEA region.

- Monitor regulatory environment for implementation of new legislation in areas of sale and ensure maintained compliance with any changes.
- Anticipate potential future regulatory action that could impact the business to aid planning.
- Understand impact of regulatory or raw material classification changes and formulation updates on product SDS and labels.
- Respond to formulation disclosure requests to customers or government competent authorities.
- Participate in the maintenance of accurate written procedures and work instructions for raw material related processes in the PSRA function.
- Establish and maintain written procedures and work instructions for all recurrent processes and ensure all procedures are consistently followed within Axalta.
- Promote efficiency within the PSRA function, including better use of existing tools and the addition of new tools or programs that will deliver efficiency, improved service or reduce costs.
Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (master’s or PhD preferable) in a science discipline (e.g. Chemistry, Biology, Toxicology, Engineering)
- 5-10 years of work experience in a regulatory or product stewardship program function
- 1-5 years of work experience in the coating and/or similar specialty chemicals industry
- 0-3 years of direct or indirect managerial responsibilities
- Experience with product management and product development processes
- Demonstrated ability to make improvements to work processes, managing the changes through effective communication and persuasion
- Experienced in assessment and interpretation of complex regulatory and market drivers
Core Competencies
- In depth knowledge of applicable EMEA regulatory requirements (i.e. REACH) and related issues
- Effective management skills and demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and increased efficiency
- Experience in working with cross-functional, multi-cultural, and virtual teams
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Some travel in Europe is expected, amount varies with projects and global conditions
